Also, scalpers have more chances than fans regardless if the announcement happens 2 days or 2 months before the sales. They're always ready, they always have their armies of email alerts, computers and credit cards handy... While we fans are powerless and depend on our own finances and particular moments.
Do scalpers actually make much money from it?? Sure Ticketmaster is evil and buys its own tickets to resell on its own crappy resell site (the name escapes me) but do normal people make any money??

The big resell site, don't know the name either at the moment, that is owned by Ticketmaster.

But the little scalpers/people who buy tickets and sell them : yes they make some (sometimes a lot) profit on it..

    Seatwave .... that's the name
  4. really hoping they won't make trading an issue and refrain from this name/cc stuff.
  5. Sorry to go off a tangent but just an observation. We generally agree that U2 are playing Australia this tour. But they haven't brought a non stadium show to oz since the late 80s. So assuming the demand is going to be high they will have to book extra shows. If Europe ends late October as we think it does will that be enough to have ei visit Australia before Christmas?

Not to be a wet blanket but I'm guessing Australia won't be until 2019. They'll need more time to plan a tour going there and will probably break for the holidays after Europe. I would guess February 2019 for Oz/NZ,and maybe Japan.
  7. I suppose playing some outlier shows after Europe and then just killing the Australian market in early 2019 would make sense.

But this whole production seems modest so maybe they might only play 5 OZ cities at one or two nights each.
  8. Playing those 5 OZ cities in late December.
  9. Anyone else hoping for a 2019-12-31 30 year anniversary show??

  10. My bet: Amsterdam, London, Manchester, Paris, Cologne, Berlin, Madrid, Bologna, Milan, Dublin, Belfast, Copenhagen, Glasgow

    Shortlist: Lisbon, Antwerp
  11. That'll be an easy decision.
