1. Okay, like I'm sure everyone else here, I absolutely adore The Fly, and I adore even more hearing it live.

I'm pretty sure that I like the Vertigo Tour versions the best, but now it comes down to narrowing it down to one specific version. My question: what is the best version of The Fly from the Vertigo Tour?

I currently listen to the Sao Paulo (2006-02-20, I believe) and Honolulu versions (2006-12-something). There are elements that I like about both, so I can't decide between the two of them... are there any ones that combine the best from both?

Maybe I'm just a tad addicted to U2, considering that I'm asking this question.
  2. You are perfectly fine, compared to most people here...but I am not really into downloading 1 billion bootlegs with the same songs...so I won't be of much help...but I like the Sao Paulo verion the best from the ones I've heard.
  3. I agree that Vertigo Tour versions are the best. Elevation vesrions were also very compelling, but the arrangement was different enough I might consider that mix a different song entirely.

For Vertigo, check out Twickenham and Sao Paolo. For Elevation, Cleveland and Boston DVD rip are very good.
  4. Ya id say twickenham from vertigo and boston from elevation.
  5. From boots I'd go for Vancouver or Twickenham for Vertigo and Cleveland or East Rutherford for Elevation.

But for best sound the Dvd rips of the respective tours will be unbeatale and the prformance, especially Boston, is top-notch too.
  6. the fly Sao Paulo (2006-02-20)

Shame there's no performance on Slane......or PopMart!

My suggestions would be either Sao Paulo, Twickenham or if you can get hold of DVD rips. I still can't understand why people underrate the ZooTV versions - I was a) listening to the album version last night and b) the ZooTV and Dublin (RDS Arena) versions and still think there's something there which the later performances don't have, although that is also applicable if you switch it around...

My only problem with the Zoo TV version is that either Edge didn't have nearly as much power in his falsetto as he does now, or the mixes of every single version don't have that part loud enough.

I know what you mean, to be fair, but personally it's not that standout that I have a problem with it, if you get me.
