I was looking for anonymous proxy servers, but most don't get past RapidShare or Megaupload (but Megaupload is a lot fairer in restrictions - it usually allows about 4 or 5 200MB downloads until it makes you wait half a day or so, which is excellent.

I'm fairly sure it changed, but it would seem our IP address is either back to front or that's how it is? No idea, but the 2 digit number comes first...

Sometimes you have to turn off everything for it to take effect.

Using that Network Connections screen I told you about earlier, you could find a good IP from a list:

http://www.proxy4free.com/page1.html

http://proxy.org/cgi_proxies.shtml

http://www.freeproxylists.com/

http://www.freshproxy.org/

http://proxy-list.org/en/

And put one of those many ones in the boxes (but take note of your current one, just in case).

My LAN address (using the cmd. thing) is 3 digits, 3 digits, 1 digit, 1 digit - as is the wireless, so they don't look the same as every other one I see (I read what you said earlier about how it's the last 2 digits that RS look at, hence I'm thoroughly confused)

Yeah, fucking RS... One of the things I missed is that the address is fixed, so it doesn't sound like I can actually change it, unless you uncheck the "automatic" box?

And yeah, that is my IP exactly...I'm guessing they're generic or something?

192.168.1.1 is the first lesson of IT administration and ipconfig is second.

Anyway, you might be in luck. Give this a go:

http://premiumdownload.info/stranky/rc5.html

Try all the servers there (1-4) and try it. For example, you need the actual link to RS, so:

http://www.rapidshare.com/file01.zip.html

Let me know if you get stuck.

Gonna try now mate - cheers for all this help and advice by the way, I can imagine thinking of solutions etc. may be as frustrating as it is for me at this end lol
