1. I agree. That was provocative too. And one thing may lead to another. But I have to draw a line somewhere. It's nothing personal.

But what is your suggestion? Do you want to let this thread escalate? Or edit everyone with a provocation?

For now I'm calling to common sense.

I get that, and I understand where you're coming from.

However, this is an incendiary video, to a deliberate and unnecessary degree. A band that was once about finding transcendental truth in the midst of (and as resolution to) conflict - is now picking sides.

You can't be surprised when those of us who didn't vote for Hillary get upset at being compared to the KKK.

I already disagree with the two party structure. I believe in compromise and slow progress. But, above all, that a government's main task is to provide peace. That's my political stance in a nutshell.

I don't think that Trump voters (aka non-Hillary voters!) are compared to KKK members in the video. It is merely expressing its concern what direction the country could take when the President is taking a blind eye to these groups.

But don't get me wrong I really don't think it was wise to make this video in the first place. Way too controversial, and way too easy.

I think there are smarter ways to, indeed, find that overarching "truth" from a song that is about going out of your comfort zone...
  4. Is it being released on cd or vinyl as a single , 12" etc ??
  5. It would be great if it was. The Blackout is a great item but I miss the regularsingles.
  6. Only a digital radio mix without Kendrick and a remix single at this point.

  8. I thought I had made myself clear in drawing the line!
  9. I meant this line:

(I taste some bitter words!) and it will likely provoke others to comment with bitterness too.

This must be avoided and it is a responsibility for everyone.

As I pointed out in my writing above, it is no wise to go to war with each other. And as a moderator on U2START I will do my utmost to keep the peace.

If people - anyone! - doesn't comply to this call for self- moderation, the moderation team WILL take measures necessary to keep the peace.

It should be clear to everyone that this is a highly controversial subject, and u2start is not to place to fight this political battle.

It's no use to go in a "who-said-what-and-where" typ of discussion. This only gets things overheated and easily drifts into an area that is basically beyond the Get Out Of Your Own way video.
  10. I'm getting censored now for expressing my freedom of speech.
  11. It's not a matter of freedom of speech, it's a matter of being off-topic here and re-heating a discussion from a few pages back about who is, and who isn't a neo-nazi.

If you are the sensible person that you appear to be, you must understand that some reactions provoke another reaction.

This is what I try to avoid.

It's not a matter of who is right, and who isn't. People may express their opinions, as long as they are not racist, sexist and otherwise discriminatory.

As long as it is an opinion with in these realms, we should respect that and leave it like that.

Perhaps a simple "+1" (or "-1" for my part) will do.
  12. It was a relevant Supreme Court Decision.
