    yep I agree
  2. I think that if that's the case the whole band will say, that's it. We've had a good time and did all we wanted to do music wise.
  3. I think if the band were thinking about calling it a day this would be announced as there final tour. I think that’s what will happen if they ever do retire which they might not, they might just slow right down and I think they probably will. I wouldn’t be expecting a new album any time soon or for future tours to have as many dates. Unfortunately the only way I can see the timing of there retirement being a surprise is if one of the band members passes away or has serious health problems, but hopefully they’ve all got many years left in them in that respect. My guess is still the 50th anniversary of u2 in 2026, the band will be in there mid 60’s and I think that will be there absolute limit, it is also quite a suitable retirement age.
  4. The reason why U2 isn't releasing many new music is because of the collapsing of the fysical album market. They are focussing on touring. Because the tickets are sold well.
  5. For your all information: I marked this thread as "fake news."

Before you know it this sort of thing gets a life of it's own and Larry has to answer questions like "why are you retiring"
and all he can say is WTF...
  6. If they or 1 of them wants to retire it’s understandable and earned. I hope they’ll give a big retirement party!
  7. Maybe it's fake news. But I still think SOE or maybe Songs Of Ascent is their last album. And there will only be a new (Farewell) tour in 2026.

That's my point. I'd like to hear the music they made if they didn't give a shit about whether it sold or not. I think it would be fantastic.

I agree! Like POP in 1997.

3 tours in 4 years is not exactly scaling down. And Larry is not that different from the person he always was. Of course they can't go on forever, but you are just making things up in my opinion.

yes, indeed. Maybe they should stop trying to be the biggest band in the world. Get rid of their Live Nations contracts etc and just play for fun.
