Nor does creating a new topic for every single song.
If the Dublin show had multiple IEM tapers, then the Dublin show had multiple IEM tapers. It is what it is. It's entirely up to the tapers if they choose not to release full shows or not.

As for selling bootlegs, i'm not quite understanding your point. Nuno has never sold a bootleg, or even asked for donations.

As for 'creating a new topic', i could see your point if Nuno was releasing stuff every single day, then that would be excessive from a threads point of view, but he doesn't, he releases absolute gems every so often, and as such, opens a new thread as he feels appropriate.
  2. I get what Rick is saying. One song gets posted, and a bunch of people are chomping at the bits for a complete recording (understandably so). His point about the bootleggers--at least they release a full show. Now obviously we'd rather not resort to patronizing bootleggers, but from the collecting standpoint, they do fill a hole. As far as mix quality goes, they often don't...(but that's another rant for another time!).

As the taper, Nuno certainly has the right to post 1, 2, 10, or 24 songs from a show. He flew out, ran recording expensive recording equipment, and sacrificed some of his enjoyment of the show. For that, we can all tip our hat in respect.

So while he may have the right to do what he wants, other people can certainly have their opinions on what is done with recordings. I've tossed up single songs on soundcloud of stuff I wasn't planning a full release, so I'm just as guilty of doing the occasional tease too. I personally think making a brand new thread announcing a new song with your name in the subject is a bit excessive, but hey, that's me.

Maybe have a consolidated "Nuno's Giving Tree" thread? Just my friendly suggestion.

Nothing much to add other than your soundcloud is quite the honeypot. Bad from the Brazil show is especially good.
  4. Indeed it is!

my comment was only a simple reply to the comment that I quoted. IEM's are not rare anymore. At least not their existence, sharing is still a bit behind. Most of the JT IEM's were released by commercial bootleggers, I don't think we can't deny that. And clearly many U2-starters didn't mind paying a few bucks for them.

I agree 100%. It reminds me of the sample thread from U2 Torrents. Difference is it is a whole song and there is a new topic for each one. I personally had no problem with the sample thread, it was interesting to me anyway. I just don't think there needs to be a new topic each time for each song.
Really it is not a big deal, but people need to remember this one song release applies accross the board. So there should be no feigned outrage if someone else does the same thing. Right?
  7. Well, I'm not outraged that a single song is shared if the taper wants it, of course it is in his right to do what he wants with his recording.
It is truly admirable who makes these recordings possible, whether shared or not, as admirable as this site. To say that all the recordings should be shared would be very selfish, if it is true that there will be very good recordings that may possibly take years to be shared or even never. And it is known by all that the one that is shared reduces the sale of a possible bootleg, which they almost always do, it is an attractive and expensive package that many still pay. So for my part, be it a single song or the whole concert, I am very grateful to who or who make it possible to share it. I hope not to offend anyone.

    Right.

If this one song "teaser" sharing becomes a trend, than it does become a concern of organization.

A possible solution may be to make a designated place holder to host the individual threads / topics. I'm sure we can think of something fitting.

But first let's see how much "one song" entries in practice are being created.

Obviously a full (or nearly complete) recording can have a place in the show page / audio tab of its specific date
  9. Concerning the commercial release of IEM recordings for the JT Europe part, I suspect that a taper has crossed the line to what many would say "the dark side" (I don't judge him, it's his own material he is free to do what he wants with it)
  10. Well I know one taper that was dabbling in the dark side and either went over to the dark side, or at the very least got really burned.

I also know there's some Japanese IEM tapers that travel for high profile shows with intent to sell.
  11. I cried unashamedly the entire song, and yes, when Suzanne got in there....just wow. Seriously, after that (3 songs in) I could have left 100% satisfied.

Thank you for your comment and you're right it's entirely up to the tapers if they choose not to release full shows or not.

As for Ricku2, there's nothing else to say for him about him, he's just very bitter than he didn't get the recordings he wanted from me that's why he's trying as much as he can to say negative things obviously with no sense. Just ignore the guy, he will always be bitter. lol
