Tour: Experience and Innocence tour
Songs played: 28
Audio recordings: 4

  1. I have listened to Acrobat from last night. I think they're slowly starting to nail it. It's incredible that they're playing this song after years and years of requesting it. Bono's speech feels a bit untrained and silly at moments, but last night he fucking nailed the "don't believe what you hear, don't believe what you see" crescendo.

  2. Looks like it magically appeared at the bottom? Again - lack of sleep....my apologies. But it does make the point probably stronger, that then there are only really two albums not represented...

Edge is still a bit lost on the sliding chords (first part of the verses) and he kinda drags Bono to lose himself a bit, but they're pretty much nailing the song right now.

  4. At 4:00 you can see my interaction with Bono. The actual finger connection (a pinky shake) is blocked by a security gerund but its there.

I think 13 will grow into a great closer.

Really nice that. First time I've seen the visuals and e-stage prop for '13', I'm guessing the light bulb at the opposite end of the setlist on the e+i tour is a nod to the whole 'experience recapturing innocence' thing Bono has spoken about.

It's always a very thin line between art and Spinal Tap when it comes to on-stage props, but thankfully U2, as ever, pull it off with finesse and class (Popmart excluded - no finesse or class there - just fabulously kitsch!)

Lovely, congrats on having such a moment with the B-man

Disagree on the closer thingy, though. The song is what it is, it cannot grow any further. It's a lullaby andit's far from the ideal show closer – judging solely from YT videos, of course. I like the song but I don't think it's a brilliant closer. On the other hand, I LOVE the idea of SOE's 1st song opening the show and SOE's last song closing it.

Amen. As long as they keep playing this song throughout the tour, I will be happy. I'll miss Wild Horses if it doesn't return, but Acrobat is enough to keep me engaged (plus playing Gloria in the first act - can't complain there, either!)

So now, TIWYCRMN becomes the new Acrobat! LOL
  9. Not before Heartland, Drowning Man, Fez/Being Born, Promenade and all the other usual suspects

I agree. While I love 13 the song (and, for the record, it's a great album closer) But I want to leave the show uplifted. LIBTAIIW should be the finale. Walk out of there singing "Ba-ba-ba-dah-ba-ba"
  11. Ok, ok... So now, TIWYCRMN becomes MY new Acrobat! LOL
  12. I wonder if excluding new albums we’ll ever get a song played for the first time live again. We could also exclude SOE for now since that’s the album they’re touring. I guess drowning man would be considered the strongest contender with the band having rehearsed that to what seemed like a good standard and I think they are also now aware quite a few people would like to hear it. Not on this current tour though.
