  1. They are going for a very specific feeling with the 13 closer. The staging is really striking/beautiful and the use of the lightbulb is a full circle moment. This entire production has a more reflective, less celebratory mood than the last tour. They're trying to tell a story, and the mood they want for the ending is not "woohooo!" but more of a solemn and loving goodnight.

If you are expecting the band to stay out at the end and wave and yell "good night Chicago!!" etc... this isn't that. I think they're pretty brave in ending it this way.

THANK YOU! That's exactly what I think.13 is a beautiful closer. That the audience has too much attention deficit disorder, it's not the band's fault.

Yeah, I get all that. And agree to a certain degree.

But brave is not always better. Performing Do You Feel Loved? in front of 50k was brave but it wasn't good. Therefore it was dropped forever (21 years to this day, today). Debuting Electrical Storm nine years after it was released was bold, but it didn't work, so they dropped it. Valiente doesn't mean better!
  4. Ive heard the live concerts to date and think 13 (Song For Someone) is a lovely way to close a show. More than likely the band will bring this whole innocence/experience to a fitting close singing this at the last concert. It is a song of hope and thats something I would like to take away with me after I see them. Those are fine words he is singing.
  5. In seeing it live last night, I will say that they are attempting a narrative, and they seem to have put a lot of thought into the flow. I'm not sure the flow is always perfect throughout, and there's definitely some room for making changes in places, but the opening and closing of the show are very deliberate visually. Based on the staging, you couldn't substitute a different song for 13. It would kind of be like rewriting the final act of a play.
  6. Nice.
  7. That would be the best shout. Don’t know if they’ll go for that though.
