Also it's not like we're being forced to listen to every single show (except for Cesar, he's screwed ). If you start finding it boring, take a break from the tour and come back later.
The shows are there for people to enjoy them not to suffer them.

well, if someone who lives near Vegas decided to go to both shows there, it would kind of be a letdown to get the same show twice, no?
  3. I wonder if 13 would work in the Song For Someone spot, then some life could be brought into the encore.
  4. Give it up and say HURRAY for setlist variation on multiple nights!

    No, why?
I went to see Avengers twice and forking Thanos did the exact same thing both times.

Last tour I sympathized with the fans that got tickets for both shows since U2 announced originally that it would be 2 different shows on different nights, but this time? No, they didn't say such thing.

If you buy tickets for the "U2 e+I tour", and the next day you buy tickets for the same show, well, you should expect the same show.
If you get something more than that, awesome, otherwise...
  6. And here I am being hunted down with pitchforks whenever I spout my opinion on how I think they're just not that interested anymore

depends on your expectations. These days people seems to work with bucketlists or songlists and only want to check off things from it their list and sometimes they seem to forget to enjoy. And you can always make changes for yourself, go one night sober and one night drinking, pick different spots etc, see different cities... those are reasons why I go to multiple shows, of course I don't mind a bit of setlist variation but sometimes it's just not there and I don't blame them for that or feel sorry for myself.

If they weren't that interested anymore, they would just straight out play a list of songs with all the hits and nothing new except a few from the new album to justify it.
But here they are, playing a show with an effort put into narrative, playing 13 songs off of the last double album, 50% of the show, showing that they care about their new work, bringing back a character that people loved to play a song that they've never played (and in the words of Dallas, were very much stressing over during the rehearsals)

Why do people expect setlists to vary ? Mostly the only people complaining are us, here on forums, following the setlists every night. People going multiple time to the show shouldn't be expecting something different. If a band plays multiple nights in a city it's to allow more people who want to attend to be able to, not to allow people to come multiple nights. That's why in Europe governments make law to prevent resales of concert tickets higher than their base price, because it's a product where pure capitalism doesn't work : there's way more demand than offer. IMHO only except if a show doesn't sell out, people shouldn't be buying tickets for multiple nights, it only makes for more people sad to miss out in the end.

Plus they didn't change the shows around in the 90's tours. They had a fixed structure and narrative. Why would they be forced to now, because technology allows people to listen to the shows every night now from their home ?
  9. Probably only because they have at least rotated one song every night pretty well every other tour this century?
  10. That's true, but the logical link between not doing it anymore for this tour and them not being really interested anymore isn't valid IMO
But that's just because I personally feel they are very much still interested and much more than we could expect from a band at this point, and I'm happy about it
  11. The setlist for the tour's final night has leaked:

    beautiful day
  12. A bit of rotation is that asked to much for a back to back show?!?!
