1. to me all Eras are equally awesome, thats the reason that in my opinion the band is the best one since beatles.
  2. After more thinking, I'd say each era I was blessed to see them was awesome- went to each tour starting with ZooTV, this is the first tour I'm not going to- purely financial and logistical reasons. Each show was magical, from the stands in Tempe for ZooTV and Popmart, GA for every other tour until I+E, when I took my daughter to her first concert. Then GA for JT30. Lots of amazing memories and friendships made
  3. Lovetown through Pop. Everything before was buildup and everything since has never quite matched the energy, quality and excitement. Bono had his best voice during this period - it’s the passion in his voice at the top of his range that could truly inspire and bring tears.

I love the 80s anthems (NYD, SBS, Pride, WOWY, ISHFWILF, WTSHNN & the list goes on & on...)
I admire the 90s creativity & the tours' madness. They reached amazing levels of experimentation
I like the 360 tour era A LOT. They had a lot of fun on stage, they enjoyed themselves & it was the proper extravaganza tour to close one U2 era & open the new U2 era, the iNNOCENCE era in which they rediscovered themselves & looked back in their early Dublin years!
I also appreciate the eXPERIENCE era & I KNOW they have it IN THEM, to make (at least) one more GREAT U2 album! They absolutely have the know-how! Take the 80s revolutionary world-changing approach, the 90s creativity, madness, spirituality & experimentation & throw in some ATYCLB-HTDAAB-NLOTH U2 pop-rock vibes & create a MASTERPIECE! (oh. and work with Eno & Lanois!)
Oh God yeah, one more with the dreamteam, Batman and Robin... Brian and Danny.
  5. 1985/86,

by far their best era. Bono's best voice, live aid, amnesty international tour, these were the years that The Joshua Tree was written,

    Should I go on?
  6. I genuinely think we will look back on 2014-18 as a glorious late Indian Summer for the band in the future. The past 3 years have been a very exciting time to be a fan.

(we're still missing the nostalgia factor)
  8. April 87 to May 87. It was total downfall after June.
  9. The whole Achtung/ZooTV/Zooropa era is fascinating... I really like the attitude on Popmart and I love 360 because of the setlists

I just downloaded three tracks from the New Jersey Amnesty Show in 1986 from i-tunes. I remember that time of the band very fondly and how much I loved those tapes from the 1986 back in the late 1980s...

Listening to those tracks now I was very surprised how bad they played back then, lol.
  11. AB/Zoo/outside broadcast/ Zooeuropa .
What a time to be alive .
Nothing to stop that being the best time ever
  12. in 2014 SOI made my year with pure nostalgia, what other band (with +40 years of road) made this?
