  1. His point is that the seats were not empty during the main show but that people left before the encore.

This could be supported also by bushido himself, since he posted the picture right after he said that people were leaving for the encore.

Look at Europe. Similar pricing, no Verified Fan > almost everything sells out.

Can someone remind me what the purpose of Verified Fan was?
  3. "Fake news" lol. I can't wait for this country to fast forward a few years. Anyway, I think the setlist night one is great. Bit of a bummer to rotate 2 really great songs for one okay one. Granted, it's not like they were replaced with Mysterious Ways or something else that's been played to death. I'm personally happy they're not playing JT. We always complain about setlist shakeups, but the fact that they're playing ZERO songs from JT is ballsy. I like that. In my opinion, Streets was pretty boring on the American leg of the IE tour. Mother and child reunion into streets was okay, but hands that built America into pride was "that" moment in the show for me. I feel like Pride is starting to become the song that Streets was. Obviously this is all just my opinion.

no doubt keen to avoid the traffic to and from those pesky dead people in the cemetry behind the forum.
  5. to verify to fans that they have the power to make it is as difficult as they see fit to obtain tickets...
  6. Yeah, I didn't even get presale access because of it. My membership was good with U2.com. It was a debacle.
  7. Good thing now everything is half empty.

Yeah, Europe was lucky, we got Zooropa into Streets. Which was great! Streets certainly needs a good segue to get it up & running.

I noticed the “sold out” on the venue sign as well and couldn’t decide if I cracked their code or if I’m just a U2 apologist, as I’m not sure who was responsible for putting that on the sign - the U2 promotional department or the venue - so, I thought maybe they list the sellout based on how many seats the venue has vs how many tickets sold= all the general admission tickets sold added to all the seats sold(even if there are seats still available on Ticketmaster) winds up being greater than the actual amount of seats in the venue...what do ya think ?

Sold out sign is out there to make them look better, hence why it's promoted on their Instagram story. It's to assure people that, really, this tour is actually doing better than people think, when it isn't exceeding expectations. It's doing well enough, just doesn't have the demand a U2 tour normally does. The three tours in four years is maybe a factor, since they usually tour every four years with a long-awaited album, but people aren't biting because promoters are getting greedier, and that's across the board in live music. It's probably a trend started by Live Nation.

As for your last point, no, probably not. They will have a total capacity set and it wouldn't have reached that. GA can be limited to whatever – the standing area could look virtually empty and they'd still classify it as the section as having no tickets. That's why there's ticket drops. I wasn't there, but I'd suspect the GA wasn't rammed given the seat situation. And if that photo was taken during the second last song, it's likely some people had left or even never turned up with tickets not shifted, so I don't think it's as bad as the photo suggests.

So yeah, probably U2 apologist on your side, but I don't think that photo reflects much.
