  2. it doesn't matter, mate.
    It's not about which song is better, is just about that this band is not known for variety or rotation in their setlists.
    That's not one of their strengths and it never has been. This is not that kind of band.

    Why people is still expecting it or getting disappointed at them for not doing it is pointless.
    Like complaining that Buffon didn't scored too many goals in his career ("then how come Higuita or Campos did, so why can't he?")

    U2 usually rotate a setlist well its really only been on the last 2 tours they haven’t been rotating as much. From Joshua tree to innocence you never knew what you were going to hear at a U2 concert you might have had a general idea but there was always surprises.

    Yes they did include a couple of songs to rotate, however my point is the same: rotation or variation has never been one of their strengths or a core element in their shows.

    They have always played songs that use a piano, but they could drop the piano altogether and no one should complain; rotation for them is the same, they've usually done a bit of it, it never has been part of their trademark.

    No, the question was "why do we complain now and not during ZooTV or Popmart?"
    I have a lot of Boy, October and War bootlegs. They have the same setlist in each tour. I don't get tired of hearing them anyway because the songs appeal more to me than American Soul or GOOYOW.
    That was the point I was trying to make.

    The problem is not that they're not rotating songs, but that SOE is not good enough.
    That's fine, I can understand that point a bit more even if I don't totally agree with it.

    It's just that usually the complains hover on the lack of rotation, which is pointless.

    It's not even that SOE is not good enough.
    I'd love to have a static setlist with LOH, Little Things, Landlady, SOL, RFD, Book, Love is Bigger, OL. Plenty of love there.
    It's just that they chose the most divisive, boring (for me) songs in SOE to have as staples.
  8. I think if they play a unique setlist for the entire tour but the set contains 1 or 2 of your top 20 U2 songs, you'll hardly complain.
    So it's just personal preference and, although they are playing some good songs, I still miss a song from my top20 there.
    I guess the complains about setlist variation deep down boil to that.
