  2. As an American it is really hard sometimes and I wish there was a way to have it not happen...

    On the other hand a team like Iran going against the world class Spain I feel like wasting time is the only way to a draw

    I guess the draw gets them through, so that's what you hope for... but it's still annoying. Especially the 3 second delay to decide you're "hurt"

    Oh absolutely and I feel like that is a pretty objective view

    It all goes back to the running clock and card system which are the fundamentals of the sport so it would be hard to change. I would like to hear fans from around the worlds take on this.

    If they implement a mandatory yellow card for an obvious dive (like Iran's goalie took) I bet it would cut down on a lot of it. Even if for only putting the thought in the players mind...

    actually, wait... this is only game 2, so a draw doesn't necessarily put them through. Which means playing for a draw is ludicrous, especially when you have to play Portugal next...

    +1 definitely agree, maybe a warning before the yellow and that goes for the team, not just one player.
