1. A break on Friday but then an amazing day Saturday. Uruguay Portugal and France Argentina
  2. And a knockout stage without Germany, Italy and Holland means that we can have a surprise team reaching the semi-finals.
Or we can have Brazil, France/Argentina, Spain and England, just like always.
  3. I predict Croaria all the way to the final...perhaps even facing Mexico...
  4. If England make the semi final i’d consider that a bit of a surprise team. They would probably be favourites to make it that far if they finish 2nd but pre tournament the quarter finals would have seemed like the most likely place for them to be eliminated, it could still turn out that way if they finish 1st and play Brazil in the quarters. I think a Brazil vs Spain final is looking very likely now.

Spain wasn't too impressive against Morocco or Iran either, and they fired their coach 1 day before the WC. Anything can happen on that side. I see Croatia stronger with that middle field.

Based on form you have a point but Spain are the only team in that side with experience winning when it really counts. Take them out of the equation and it really could be anyone in the final but I think Spain will find a way. Wouldn’t mind being proved wrong though.

    Last time was '90 weren't it? That's 28 years!
  8. I meant, semifinals with previous world-champions, just like (almost) always.
  9. But I do consider England or Belgium a surprise team if they reach the semi-finals.
  10. Yeah, I'm convinced we'll get at least one country from out of leftfield this year in the final - especially with VAR in play now at least stopping some of the shenanigans and jiggery-pokery of years gone by. Could be England or Belgium, could be someone even more unexpected.
  11. If England is nr 1. They will probably play against Columbia, another South American team, Together with France seems very difficult against the SA teams. The European (right)side together with Japan or Senegal seems easier and I think a dark horse will reach the last 4 out of it. Like Croatia or Belgium. Spain will be a problem for them but we'll see. Saturday Ur-Port or should I say Suarez against Ronaldo. A tough and fantastic game will that be. Let the show begin.
  12. I'm with you here. Or Sweden as a dark horse.
