  1. Colombia and then Sweden/ Switzerland is still better than japan then Brazil. England and Belgium would be favourites against Colombia but not Brazil.
  2. We'll see. Everyone is putting Brazil in QF already, but we beat them in the Olympics, Confederations and U-17 WC finals. I think anything can happen this World Cup.

    I’m sorry for dismissing Mexico in my previous post. It’s not that I’m writing them off completely I’m just playing the odds. I’m a neutral (apart from wanting my Argentina bet to win) I just think Brazil will find a way but I’ll be the first to hold up my hands if Mexico win and say I wasn’t expecting it. Equally if the team that finishes 1st out of England/Belgium goes further than the team that finishes 2nd I’ll also hold up my hands. It is football and as you rightly say anything can happen.

    Oh don't worry, I never thought you were dismissing Mexico.
    I'm just saying it's hard to guarantee a winner at these stages.

    Yes. But then would you rather play Sweden/Switzerland or Brazil in the QFs?
  7. Not convinced yellow cards is the best way to decide the group watching that....

  8. I think England's best bet of coming second is playing for a draw and sending on some crappy players at the end to get yellow cards xD (but I'd still rather anyone but England win the competition)

  12. By the way, Japan classified for having less yellow cards than Senegal. It was interesting to see this decided by that. First time in WC history.
