And I don't think it's a good way to do it...... Japan were shocking, just playing for a draw
  2. It’s not a good way but there’s not really much you can do. Maybe in the case of 2 tied teams they could arrange a play off but i think they’re trying to keep the rules consistent and if 3 or 4 teams tie then cards is probably a sensible idea before the drawing of lots which would be the next deciding factor.
  3. playing cowardly and then progress based on the Fairplay classification.. rules not always work as they should
  4. They were equal on points, goal difference, goals scored and the result between the two teams.... maybe goals scored in qualifying?? Or a playoff seems good too, anything but yellow cards
  5. so what's gonna happen between England and Belgium? they're in the same situation, equal on everything except yellow cards.. luckily Colombia got first place in their group, otherwise second place in group G would be clearly preferential to first place and we could potentially get a very silly situation where both teams don't want to win and get as many yellows, maybe even reds as possible
  6. 17 changes between the teams combined, and Southgate claims they want 1st place.

  7. Whoever gets the most cards 'wins', so you better leave it to the other players.

I still think the teams prefer to rank second, despite Colombia's win. The route to the semi final is much more open.
  9. So 0-0 it is.
If I were Belgium or England, I'd be concerned about the lack of competitive matches. Yes, they crushed Panama and Tunisia, but you may think they want better preparation for a truly competitive round of 16.

  10. I wouldn't be thinking that far ahead. Focus on the game in front of me...
  11. So, right now England has less yellow cards than Belgium, right?
  12. Yeah Belgium have 3 and England 2 if I’ve read right. It’s completely possible we go to the drawing of lots.
