All the people who sit in front of their computers and waste their time listening to mxlrs hoping for a surprise is just that a waste of time. It will never happen. These guys are in cruise control. U2 has dropped the only good song Wild Horses cause Edge wants to keep it a 24 song set. Maybe if they would rotate the setlist more ticket sales would increase ? Why can't they at least rotate Red Flag Day and Gloria for Electric Co and Out of Control. The bring back Wild Horses after One and close the show with Love Is Bigger instead of 13 which puts the crowd to sleep and most people walk out anyway at this point. I Will Follow, Pride and Sunday Bloody Sunday need to go as does acoustic Best Thing. Bring back Bad/All I Want Is You and Land Lady/Song for Someone.
Again people aren't supposed to shell out big bucks for multiple shows expecting surprises. If all these arena shows are sold out (and even when they aren't they basically are with the current shit state of ticket sellers) the amount of people doing multiple shows is equal to the amount of fans disappointed they couldn't get a ticket at base price to see them. Just a thought to keep in mind.

It was said a lot already, but ZooTV had no song rotation... Why would U2 be responsible for the "waste of time" of people listening to the mixlrs every night ? And you have the right to think the setlist is crappy, but keep in mind its an opinion. I think the set list works well for the most part, I love this acoustic Best Thing but I'd hate Song for Someone to come back for example.

Of course people should share their negative opinion. But we all have extremly different opinions on all of this here, and keeping that in mind when sharing yours (simply adding "I think" works wonders) makes for much less negative and much more welcoming friendly forums... Just my five cents anyway !

Is there a clip of it anywhere?

    How long?, How long?
  5. I've been thinking why they don't play Little Things. I've come to the opinion the song is so dark , it could only be used as a show closer as I don't think the band could pick up the show after this song. And I think they chose 13 as the one they wanted to close the show with, which makes sense

Hadn't thought of that but it makes sense. I would find it hard to put the song anywhere but at the end
  7. They might dig it up for Europe.
  8. Had a great time last night with my daughters in the nosebleeds , that were actually pretty good and a steal for $88 each . The seats were on the side of the stage and in the second row of the third section .

With that being said , last night was actually the 4th of 5 gigs in the Metropolitan area , as Long Island is only 48 miles from Newark NJ . While the set is very good , it definitely should have some movement . Why or how Landlady and Little Things are not being played is still a mystery to me . Both are so good and would fit the “theme” and or “narrative “ . ABOY is a good tune , but was the only change from my LI show . 1 song . Id gladly take Electric Co again or , New Years Day ? Or the epic classic Bad ???

U2 are obviously aware of their hardcore base in this area . They sold out 8 nights at MSG only 3 years ago and are well aware that numerous fans are attending more then 1 gig . Is it too much to ask for 2 or 3 songs to be rotated as the band did so well in 2015 ? I guess so . PJ have spoiled me , especially after that beautiful night in Rome on Tuesday.

Speaking of a “theme”, why not play Kite or SYCMIOYO after Iris for Bono’s dad ? Or even Original of the Species for the kids ?

SBS into UTEOTW seems rushed and off to me , maybe because it is , cutting out RBW where it fit perfectly is a mistake . The Troubles or Hands That Built America would have fit and been different then just repeating and dropping a part of the show that the fans have already witnessed 3 years prior.

NYD and Gloria should both be played each and every night (possibly in the first set directly after IWF) or have NYD open set 2 . With JT being omitted this tour the classics are sorely lacking. Bad anyone ?

BD is played out and a bore for me at this point in time. Same goes for Vertigo. Do they go over ? Sure , but so does NYD Gloria Out Of Control and Wild Horses .

The 2nd set kicked off well . Elevation Vertigo and Desire got the crowd up and ready for Acrobat , which was amazing and I’m still in shock the band are finally playing it . I wish Bono could have stayed in character for one more tune , maybe the Fly ? Anyways , the crowd was loud and ready for more , maybe NYD ? Nope , time for Best Thing acoustic , which is just brutal . A shame as the full band song is good . My youngest nearly fell asleep during it , and the entire section in 214 sat down and stayed that way until the opening chord of Pride . But hey , it’s a great time in the show to run for the toilets and or grab a final Stella or Guinness.

Did I mention where the hell has Bad gone ?

GOOYOW and AS went over well last night and I enjoyed them much more then I did in LI . Not sure how Europe will react to them , but it’s definitely a good experience live .

COBL was especially moving for me last night , as my middle daughter still remembers being in her car seat back in 2004 singing it , as I blasted the song . Needless to say , its her favorite U2 song.

The show was very good, no question , but that encore, it’s such a flat way to send off the crowd. I can only speak from what I’ve witnessed, and the look of complete bewilderment on the fans around me last night was exactly the same as the crowd of people on LI on June 9 . The look of “ that’s it “ “that can’t be it ... is it really over “ ?

I’ll be there tomorrow night for show number 3 (and number 5 in this area) . I’m looking forward to seeing the band again as always . I’ll hope for Gloria and I’ll definitely run for the exit after One.
