    There were no saints today.
    Here's a fact:

    South American teams are cheats.

True, Henderson didn't really need to go down like he did (when he got headbutted in the chest and chin) but the ref was so incompetant they had to make him aware somehow.
But there was another play where the English player (don't remember who, sorry) dived in the area and the Colombian player didn't even touch him.

That was Maguire. And watch the replay, they did touch and it was 50/50. No foul though. And when Maguire stood up he shook his finger to the ref saying it wasn't a foul.

They're really lucky they didn't have at least one red carded.
  5. Are you referring to mcguire who then signalled to the referee that he hadn't been touched? Lingard fell over himself but I didn't see him running after the ref either. Accept that the better team won and the usual cheating suspects are on the plane home unless of course you're going to try to justify the penalty spot nonsense in which case go ahead I like a laugh.
  6. I think the dive from Maguire was a bit poor, he tried to make up for it I think by quickly getting up but he did still dive in the first place. Apart from that though I do think England had to engage in a bit of gamesmanship with the tactics Colombia used from quite early on. Colombia definitely should have had a man sent off as well for the headbutt.
  7. Such a make or break moment for England. So important for us to win like that (my blood pressure strongly disagrees), huge confidence boost for the players...on to the next game!
  8. They should have had two. One for the headbutt and one for the penalty spot trick they thought they could pull.
  9. Yeah, kicking up the penalty spot is disgraceful. What sort of team does that?

Yeah, only after it had been going on unchecked time and time again by Colombia and the referee doing sweet f.a. about it both before and after the penalty. Plus the off-ball headbutt which was for sure a red card incident, and then the Colombian coach deliberately shoulder barging Raheem Sterling end of the first half, and the countless other nonsense going on - scuffing the penalty spot etc. etc. - getting away with no end of stuff... if you're gonna live by the sword... and all that.

WTF? I don't care who won. The better team won, I'm not justifying anything.
The referee was terrible, no authority whatsoever and everyone was doing what they wanted with him. That also contributed to the dirty play we saw.

That’s the nail on the head to be fair that the referee failed miserably by allowing it to go on so long in the first place. He finally started dishing out bookings but rather as a panicky last resort when he should have been booking players early on and controlling the game. Anyway it’s all irrelevant now England fans should enjoy the result and look forward to the quarter finals.
