I’m definitely taking the positives from this that the band could be around for a long time still, even longer than I maybe would have guessed possibly. Livenation well not so good but again I’m taking the positives.

Is it sad that the prospect of this alone means I will continue to renew my u2.com account so I can get first go in the presale. The answer is most likely yes but I don’t care if they do AB30 I’ll be like a child at Christmas.
I would have thought that given the bands massive infrastructure, they could actually set themselves up as a touring company whether U2 ever play again or not ; effectively a rolling machine that U2 operate but could, in U2's dormant years, see the bands touring organisation supporting other acts on a similar scale. Also, U2 are at this stage, so big and experienced (as a company), they do not need LN anymore and could go independent as a self-funding, self-contained business.
I think the dates are off though. I can't see the band living with a 6-7 year gap between albums and can't see their next stadium tour after a 4-5 year lay off being a "Zoo30" show with no new stuff. If they did launch something, it might be, say a standard LP tour 21-22, "Zoo30" 22-23, and a final tour at the 50 year mark ending 2026.
It would only be a 4 year gap between albums if they released one at the end of 2021 and would only be 2 and a half years since there last tour if they decided to do an AB30 tour in 2021 and started it in May roughly like TJT30 tour. They kind of gaps aren’t big for u2.
i get live nation is bad! biggest ticket touts in the world.but where can U2 play in usa or europe that isnt controlled by live nation. live nation has exclusive rights to sell tickets at most stadiums and arenas in north america .
Disappointing...christ it is not as if they need any more money. It could get embarrassing as fuck knows what Bono will sound like in 5 years let alone 10 years time
Watch them start headlining Vegas with Donny and Marie, Celine Dion, Britney Spears, Shania Twain, Wayne Newton and others....they are fast becoming a joke and a greedy joke at that.
