  2. I love them both in different ways but i feel they tried too hard to make SOE pair with SOI and it's kinda forced for me, so SOI gets it as a more genuine album rather than something they felt they had to do

  4. as a whole, I find it more enjoyable to listen to SOE.
    taking music for music, SOI wins.

    I like both, I can't choose the best of them.

    Landlady, Little Things, Red Flag Day, and Love Is Bigger are on another level.

  8. Experience. The album is more consistent all around both on record and live. Live it's their best album since POP
  9. SOE for me. SOI is fantastic, but it just sounds too orchestrated to my ears, and as a result it kind of falls flat.

    SOE to me is the first interesting record U2 has done again since Pop. Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying it's the first "good" record they've done, but the first interesting one since. Sonically it's beautiful, and lyrically it's just poetic as all hell. Bono's firing on all cylinders (except on American Soul lol) and it shows.

    Sincerely hope the next album follows in its footsteps. Get Andy Barlow to do the next entire album, and make sure Bono has a near-death accident just before again (totally kidding, TOTALLY KIDDING!).

    For me it's almost the exact opposite
  11. I’m not the opposite as such but I feel like SOI is the heavier, more interesting and more experimental album. SOE sounds like more of an attempt at a commercial album from u2, but I don’t mean that as a criticism of SOE. I actually quite like how the dark themes in SOE are sometimes masked by more upbeat music and creates a more positive vibe at times but overall heavier u2 usually stands the test of time better for me hence why I chose SOI. I listened to the 2 back to back tonight and they go well, the end of the troubles straight into LIAWHL is perfect.
