    he is a fan and probably doesn't have a shit load of equity to pay for copyrighted photos so it would work out using fan photos. I bought 'U2 - An Irish Phenomenon' the other week and the few pictures in it were taken from fans on interference.com. Again, that book was written by a fan (and it is quite good so pick it up if it's going cheap. I got it for 2 quid)

    Can't beat that price. But seriously, how much "insider information" are we going to get out of a fan-written book? Did he have amazing access to the band?

    all fan accounts. The only thing different or unique about it is the format. It's done as a timeline format. Might be worth a go.
  7. I think that it says on the atU2 site that the cover that is on Amazon ISNT the final cover.

    Will the book be better than Flanagan's or U2 By U2? Probably not. Matt did summon the fans of the atU2 sight to contribute. And by all accounts, many fans did contribute pictures and stories.

    It 'sounds' as though it is a chronologic tale. In that, it is in some ways similar to Pimm's "A Concert Documentary" + mixed with the fan stories + other bits that might be more from the source (ala U2 By U2). So will it be any good? I guess time will tell.

    I think the book will be a fun, and informative read. @U2 used to have a U2 Timeline feature which was amazing. They took it down when Matt started working on the book. I for one am really looking forward to the book and even submitted a photo. I have a feeling this book will be up there with U2 Live for me in terms of awesome fan-made books.
  9. I will probably check it out. You never know, there may be some new information in it. There are things people know outside of U2's inner circle that do know new things.

    It will probably be a very good read then...
    and I'm happy to hear it won't be the final cover.... they should come up with a fresh original idea for the cover I think... not just the four guys or "U2" solo... I don't know what exactly.. but some images pop up in my mind now, and seem prettey good I think!!!
