  1. So, probably Red Flag Day tonight?
  2. Dear Bono, Edge, Adam and Larry,

    ( I know you read this..........! :-) )

Thank you for an amazing evening last night!

Can you please please please surpise the Dutch audience tonight and add "The Little things...." to the setlist? Thank you from the bottom of my heart!
  3. But is it really shorter than at the beginning even if there are two songs less?
  4. You are right. In fact Elevation and Vertigo are one track. Anyway...too bad for now, I've got a show to catch

(will retag & update later )
  5. I think 20/21 maybe 22 at a push is what we can expect from u2 now going forward. I think age is catching up with them all and in a fairly significant way. I also believe the band are determined to give us great performances and carry on in the future and maybe less songs is a way for them to achieve this, it will certainly help when it comes to the energy the band can put into each song and the shows are probably coming in about a similar time probably made up with more talking which I also think we’ll need to accept as again it gives them a chance to regroup and go again for the next song. Looking at Larry as well it really does seem visibly difficult for him, he’s giving it his all and doing a great job but it’s far from easy for him by the looks of it.
  6. Quality over quantity.
  7. Perhaps in the future we'll see them move towards a days break in between shows just to give themselves some time to recover - Larry especially.

They could do, the only possible downside to that for them is it keeps them away from home longer than necessary because each day’s break extends the tour. Also there would be costs involved i’d imagine with having the staging sitting there doing nothing for a night.

My guess is that the setlists reflect their need for some breaks even during the show.
There is the intermission after 7 oder 8 Songs, there's another break for Larry and Adam after another 5 or 6 songs, then four more and another break before the encore and then another three songs and it's over. This "structure of the setlist" give Larry Mullen some time for back treatment/massage and maybe Adam get's some therapy, too, during the breaks. I'm perfectly fine with it.

You might wonder what's the problem in playing an instrument for two hours every few days, given that they live a life as rich people with personal health assistants etc..

I'm only 48 years old and ten years ago I didn't mind playing gigs that went on for four oder six hours. Now my body aches the next day after a show that is only two and a half hours. Age is showing, which is okay, but it you need to reconsider a few things.

  10. So here is a panoramaview from last night. Now off to Amsterdam again
