    No, it means nothing at all really. The techs mess with riffs and lines all the time. Dallas used to do The Fly riff at Popmart soundchecks all the time for an example.

    Also, even when it is a band member it could mean nothing. I listened to Edge work on the Please guitar part with Adam and Larry joining in at times for 30 to 40 minutes on Vertigo. Never appeared at a Vertigo show.

    Until we get a report of a full band (w/Bono) of Dirty Day it isn't happening. Even then, it might not happen. (See Landlady (I guess there is hope still), Mofo (on Vertigo), Velvet Dress (on Vertigo) etc........

  5. The Fly has to be played it's such a big important song it opened the door for them in the 90s when all the other 80s act disappeared into oblivion unwilling to change their sound. Simple Minds a perfect example they got dropped from their record label even though they were massive in the 80s but they just dished out the same formula and suffered commercially even to the point of the Record company refusing to release one of their albums in the mid 90s.

  7. Something from POP has to come out eventually... maybe we don’t know all the stories about rehearsals.
    The Stones are used to hide songs and play with low sound to keep the surprise..
    U2 is used to that too..(Vancouver 15&17 comes to mind)
    The band is in the right place now..something happened and we can’t predict anything.
    Surprises are coming...
  8. I don’t think the band will be thinking about playing any more pop this tour. I know you could say it was 90’s material but I think it’s the Achtung baby/zoo tv era they’re focused on not pop.

    They are thinking about it every tour. They just rarely play any.
