They almost split up and yet they came back together again. This is what these Achtung Baby/Zooropa songs tell.

I even believe that it's part of the narrative that Bono goes alone to the screen during Zoo Station and at the intro of Stay, to show that he was indeed all alone. The band were miles apart. Then, Adam, Larry and Edge join one by one to illustrate them getting back together. The chapter ends with the four of them being as close as possible to each other performing at the top of their game, while the screen closes. A story with a good ending!
And, in a way, the Achtung Baby story tells about the "dreaming it all up again" episode. The break after the LoveTown Tour when they didn't had a clue about what was next - and if there be a "next". Sort of similar to the situation they'll be facing after November 13... (There Is A Light)...

Thats a stretch! Yeah, I see it. Liked the other narrative better. Experience AND Innocence tour. Its still cool. My only complaint is that we probably wont get the DC Blu Ray that captures the first leg version of the tour. Now if they released both, fantastic! (But probably not happening).

I still really hope as well that they release the US leg too.

Love Is All We Have Left opener. Way better & more agressive MacPhisto speeches, American Soul
  5. I think the current way of telling the story is much better. We didn’t have the experience songs on the I&E tour they had to use a combination of new and old to do that and they are doing the same now. (Yeah I know SOE wasn’t released at the time.) I think if we were to pair one of these recent shows with an Innocence show we have the u2 I&E/E&I story in full the attempt at combining the two in one show at the start of this tour did an ok job but it was missing something and now they’ve found it.

I do agree it was missing something. A song or two correction. But this shake up changes it completely. I think you agree with me on SBS, the version did not work. Take that out and put in a different song somewhere else, probably Horses before or after UTEOTW and it would have been there completely to me.

Agreed, I know American Soul gets a lot of grief as a song on here, but it kicked ass live.

Don't forget probably the best version of Staring At The Sun they have done as well.

I 100% agree with you on SBS, for me the way the Innocence section would have worked by taking away elevation and vertigo and putting zoo station and the fly in they slots, I would have ditched the ocean and I will Follow to free up a slot another song or 2 something like this

    Blackout
    Lights of home
    Gloria/RFD
    Beautiful Day
    Stay
    Iris
    Cedarwood Road
    Raised By Wolves
Who’s Gonna Ride Your Wild horses
Until the end of the world

    Intermission

    Zoo station
    The Fly

Then carry on the set as normal from Real Thing. That would have been fine by me although they could have even fit in different Innocence songs instead of the ones that were played on I&E. If i was pushing it and asking for a longer Setlist I would put landlady back in as the encore opener as well.
