    Surely using the EU flag in the UK would be the one place it actually makes sense. The band love the EU and want the UK to stay, majority of the people (well kinda) want the UK to stay. This is U2's message to the UK, you are stronger in the EU.
    Sure, U2 is a European band...but it seems such a passed station...

    Coincidently there might be a "deal" later this week...

    Perhaps the flag is half EU, half Union Jack...?
