2018-08-31 - Berlin
Tour: Experience and Innocence tour
Songs played: 25
Audio recordings: 2
Videos: 1
  1. They can and probably will still edit the Berlin show anyway. I have to admit that’s my preference also, it would be different if the songs ended up sounding like they were done in the studio but the only recording I think the edited terribly was Mercy on the wide awake in Europe release, bono lyrics for the chorus are so noticeably not live but I can’t think of any other live release where the songs don’t still sound natural even when perfect.
  2. And when they release a DVD now, any and all mistakes tend to be dubbed out/corrected. Rose Bowl 360 as a prime example- Bono's intro to No Line was edited. And, more famously, Adam's flub in Magnificent was fixed- that I can understand though. Alas, they are hoomans too. But they do polish up their releases a bit. I wonder if that's why they've never released a bank of live releases (a la PJ, etc)..kind of an 'own worst critic" kind of thing?

  3. the fly Dublin 4 was perfect !
look bono ar 4.29! he knows they gave the best performance

Your probably right actually about why they don’t release all there shows, or at least that might be one of the reasons. The funny thing is I wouldn’t mind so much if they were releasing everything because I could find plenty of perfect versions of songs then but when they only use 1 dvd to represent a tour I want to watch a perfect show and rip audio of a perfect show or a close to perfect show at least.
  5. Well what can I say, last night was the best gig I have ever been to. The whole night was just one big party atmosphere. I think the fans and band let loose, everyone just wanted to enjoy themselves. This show was better than Dublin 4. I was surprised they didn't do an extra song, and they barely mentioned the cancelled gig. It was great to see Bono physically touched by the crowd singing after Love is bigger.

I've heard One 8 times now, and never really thought it was special live. However last night changed that. It was emotional. It was perfect. 13 was another emotional moment as well. "We're going away now".

I know me and Dean noticed it, but did anyone else see Bono speak to Larry and Edge after COBL? It wasn't a normal chat, it was like they were discussing something. Bono spoke to Larry first, and then Larry nodded. Bono then turned to Edge and said something, Edge looked at Larry and then nodded. I was expecting them to play something new, but nothing happened.

Yeah me and my dad were at the main stage and we also saw that, wonder what is was about...
  7. My guess is that they were going to do another song and then they changed there mind. I think because they were filming it they wanted to stick to the script, even though as we’ve been talking about they could edit it but I noticed Larry quickly run over and do the bows, there was definitely a moment where they were ready to stay on stage.
  8. Bono grabbed the mic stand too afterwards but just said Thank you again. It really looked like they were going to play something else.
  9. Yeah, I really thought they were going to play another song. It looked like Bono really wanted to and Larry was like “yeah, but we can’t mate, remember the script?” Hahaha
  10. I mentioned this - I think Bono reminded Larry to acknowledge the crowd behind him (after Dublin not being full 360 layout). Larry turned around and waved at the crowd behind before joining the guys at the front
  11. Also, last night it was 3 years ago the Paris attacks happened

That is EXACTLY why they haven't done it. Perfectionists, they do not like releasing official stuff with errors. For the most part anyway. That, and I don't think they really care. One official show should be sufficient seems to be the attitude. Why they archive it all is the mystery. I don't think they have any plans for 99% of it.
