Yeah, I read about that. I think he needs to mature a little, and become a better decision maker.

I think that's a valid argument. There are youth leagues, but no kid says they want to grow up and be a soccer player. It's basketball here in the US.

And that's mainly because of the money.

Why even put yourself in that situation? I don't get it. you're right, he does need to mature a bit. I mean, if he gets hurt again, the whole city will turn him. (remember Sam Bowie?)

Haha, how could I forget Sam Bowie. I can't believe they passed up Michael Jordan, for him!

Not that it's a valid excuse, but you've got to remember that they just drafted Clyde Drexler the year before and had him playing the SG....but still....it's Michael Freakin' Jordan!

True...I actually was a blazers fan for a few years. Back when they had Pippen, Rasheed, Sabonis (he was a bust as well, lol), etc.

Those were the years when I actually interned and worked for the team.

And the big problem with Sabonis was that his Lithuanian team retained the rights to him for all his prime years. By the time he finally got out of that contract and came to the US, he was over the hill.

I remember that story. I'll tell you what, the NBA just isn't what it used to be...

No, it really isn't. I really don't even like it anymore. I'll watch Blazer games when they're on, but I don't think I'll watch any playoffs. Maybe if the Western Conference plays out as well as all the talking heads are saying it will, but I just don't really care about the NBA anymore.
