1. I kinda started to appreciate the theatricality of it after seeing it live but in the musical/engagement sense I still think it's the worst closer they've ever done

Well, maybe just a tad behind Rain (what a fiasco closer) but definitely worse than the already pretty despicable I Still Haven't Found in 2015.
  2. Best part of Still Haven't Found as closer in 2015 was when Edge fell off the stage during opening night.

At least it wasn't the consistent closer, and become less frequent as tour went on. They just boxed themselves in with the theatricality of 13...even to the detriment of the show. But that's been U2's MO for years now.

If I recall, there was a 2015 rehearsal day where they closed with With or Without You.

Still haven't found is one of their greatest songs of all time it always gets a massive response and has the whole crowd singing shame you don't get it

    But as a closer?
  5. 2019 tour discussion = is 13/ISHFWILF a good or bad closer
  6. Can't wait for the meltdown here when the 2019 tours encore only consists of ISHFWILF and 13 ?
  7. Even if it's not good, 13 is still better closer than ISHFWILF

Totally disagree. Perfect closer for this tour as was moment of surrender for 360.
  9. +1. I loved it, the thematics of it were amazing. Full circle after I&E opening with the lightbulb and The Miracle. A final message to his children.
  10. For those in the know it’s a fantastic closer. For the other 19,950 people in the arena though.....
  11. 13 seemed like the right closer for the shows. I think it’s a very good song for starters so that always helps then I like them finishing with a new song, I think it’s brave and when you couple it with starting with a new song it sort of gives the shows there own identity compared to other tours. Finally it just felt quite fitting in regards to the whole innocence and experience theme. I find the song very powerful in a subtle sort of way, even more so when witnessing it in person but even when listening back on recordings or the album version.
