1. I would imagine - though I guess I really don’t know - that whether it brings in a TON of money or not it’s probably still good for business to at least occasionally tour outside your main markets. You reach a different audience, you shake things up from normal, you are guaranteed to make at least some money since your absences are so long... and even if it’s not extremely lucrative, what are you really losing on a dozen shows?
  2. Plus I would assume a company would sponsor the tour..

    Shake things up?
  4. Crazy idea:
Australian dates will be announced on a sticker on the RSD vinyl.

    I know, I'm a dreamer!
  5. It’s easy money really. A few weeks in the sun. Yeah there’s work to do but the pressure is off right now. They are reusing an old stage so that’s financially a good move and even the work involved in setting up must be less complicated with equipment you’ve already worked with before. They aren’t having to start from scratch get into the complexities of coming up with something brand new. I think this will be the band enjoying themselves more than usual, playing songs they enjoy playing to fans who will probably be desperate to hear them and see the band again live. There’s also an assumption it won’t be an overly profitable tour but I reckon if you look at the money earned over the time it takes then to earn it they’ll be at least on a par with E&I probably better and that’s even with the costs getting taken into account. That’s the benefit of stadium shows.
  6. Sorry, haven’t been on for a while and being lazy by not scanning back through the posts but is this rumour linked to a revisit for the Joshua Tree set up or E+I tour??? Stadiums or Arena’s

so what are the costs? I would say indoorshows have lower production costs.
There's also a bit of a difference in earnings, indoor shows generally have higher average ticketprices.
  10. So Coldplay visited Abu Dhabi, Singapore, Bangkok, Taiwan, Seoul, and Tokyo last year. Wonder if U2 will pick their selection from these cities, I would assume so given the LiveNation similarity.

Joshua Tree stage but not the Joshua Tree tour, many are thinking about a Lovetown branded tour.
  12. I see U2 not playing in Bangkok and Taiwan....
