  3. I haven’t used a fan club presale for U2 since 2009, when I got so-so seats for Chicago. In 2015 I tried to get GA for Chicago and got shut out in the presale. But I was able to get them during the general sale. Some with Cleveland 2017. If the show is of lesser demand, it’s easier to get whatever tickets you want. I got my Chicago GA tickets for night 5 in 2015, when the demand was lower and I was able to swoop in and get them. Shows like Adelaide, and 2nd nights in Sydney, Melbourne and Auckland should have lower demand than the first nights, and be easier to get GA for.
  4. Yeah, and it's likely they won't announce all the shows at once. So if you miss out on night 1, don't get disappointed.

    They'll just announce the other shows halfway through the day and put them on sale immediately. (Dublin 2018)
  7. My advice to a person who lives in Sydney for example, is to just get whatever you can for night 1. Then night 2 go for the GA, just be online right when they go on sale. U2 are not as popular as they used to be, and the tickets cost more. There really is no need for a fan club membership anymore. Back in the Vertigo days, shows sold out within minutes. That doesn’t really happen now. They would rather charge high prices and let the show takes 6 months to sell out, then lower the price on the unsold ones as time goes by. This ensures that they make as much money as possible.

    Also good to be aware of is that many big acts (Madonna, Elton John, Metallica, perhaps Pearl Jam) will also visit Australia this year, making probably less locals to go choose U2.

  10. I've never had difficulty getting tickets for U2 here in Sydney, be it through the fan club pre-sales or general release. Old enough to remember having to personally queue for hours outside Ticketek outlets back in 1984 and 1989.
  11. Just had it confirmed today from a member of the U2 crew that they heading for Australia and NZ to do shows in mid December. Tour will be the Joshua Tree

    It will not be mid December, nor the exact The Joshua Tree 2017 tour, but I'm sure that not all crew is aware of the whole picture as of yet.
