1. I didnt say it was perfect ??‍♂️?
  2. If Brisbane is only getting 1 show, i would think Adelaide and Perth would only get one as well.

Quick google search of city pop gave me:
    Bris 2.17 mil
    Perth 1.95 mil
    Ade 1.28 mil

  3. Largest stadium in Taipei is only 20,000 capacity. Some much bigger stadiums in Taiwan outside of Taipei. I'm guessing it's fake, but of course could be wrong...

Wouldn’t be surprised if only Melbourne and Sydney get multiple shows in Australia. We’ve seen with TJT that its not a given that there’s multiple shows per stadium.

Imo, makes more sense to close the tour in an English speaking country/continent rather than in Asia. Did they ever close a tour in Asia?

Yep, their most famous tour. ZooTV closed in Tokyo.

Yeah, I'll be very interested to see what demand is like.

For Vertigo only Sydney & Melbourne had multiple shows (Sydney had 3). But for 360 Brisbane & Perth also got multiple shows (in-the-round).

So it will be interesting to see if demand has dropped off much since 360. There won't be the spectacle of the CLAW to pull in the crowds (though it's U2, so I'm sure the staging will be quite spectacular). The band haven't had a big hit in a long time, though the same was also true for 360. On the other hand, it's been a long time since they've visited Oz, so there could be pent up demand for fans to see them one last time. Also end-of-stage format should have a lower capacity for each stadium than 360 did (though Perth's new stadium is larger).

So I'm going to be optimistic, & hope that Brisbane & Perth have a chance at getting a second show each. One for Adelaide I'd presume.
  7. In addition to the anniversaries noted - 40 years since first single, 30 years since Lovetown, we shouldn't overlook that it's 35 years since the first Under Australian Skies tour.

For me, that interval between first and most recent gig is only eclipsed by Blondie, who I first saw in 1980 and most recently in 2017. But unlike U2 their line up has changed over the years and they split for a while.
  8. No, the line up hasn't changed...they only replaced younger Bono for older Bono..

Perth did extremely well in 2010, better than Melbourne and Sydney in terms of attendance! Wouldn't be surprised to see 2 shows there. Although the new stadium is bigger, they'll also most likely be doing an end stage show, so capacity should be roughly the same as last time, if not less.

I remember the Billboard Boxscores thread over at interference stating that in 2010, Brisbane 2 had only about 30,000 people in attendance. The first show sold out, and their total attendance was 85,000. So I'd say a 2nd Brisbane show is unlikely, but not impossible.

Another fact about ticket sales in Australia: during Zoo TV, sales were so bad for the Adelaide show that they were toying with the idea of cancelling it. They went ahead with it, and ended up selling about 30,000 tickets. Also, the first Sydney show (that Adam missed) was not sold out, but I'm not sure by how much. The 2 Zoo shows in New Zealand were apparently pretty undersold, according to Bill Flanagan's book.
