1. Great!

I only wish the sub gift was a vinyl - who the hell gets CDs anymore?! (yes I realize the hilarity of this statement)
  2. Me... I am happy that it's Cds and not vinyl. I don't collect vinyls and I even don't have a record player.
Of course I use the digital files, but I still collect CDs...
  3. Happy its not a vinyl, way fewer tracks
  4. Naw, just include MORE discs!

Really I'd just prefer they make this available on streaming platforms, I haven't ripped a CD in freaking years and I don't plan on doing it anytime soon. Hell, my Mac doesn't even have a disc drive so I can't anyway haha.

Yes - more vinyl discs and hq download - who plays CDs today?
  6. I collect u2 cd’s only but don’t really play them anymore. Still I prefer them to vinyl but it’s just about what you’re used to. What I like about a cd is if there was ever an issue with my laptop or iPhone and I lost the tracks I could just rip the cd again but if it’s only vinyl then I’ve not got that option.
  7. CDs: Don't call it a comeback.
  8. I don't even own a CD player anymore. My car didn't come with one and it wasn't an option.
  9. I do not have a recordplayer. The vinyls are also too "misshapen" for me and they take up too much space. I could listen to a CD on my children's stereo. For me it's mainly about listening to music and not collecting. Therefore, I would prefer a download option. Then I can always and everywhere hear U2.
  10. I don't own a turntable and I think the only CD player I have left is in my 2008 Honda.
    Sad but true.

it's all preference. vinyl is not for everyone, and i get that. especially the ripping part. to my ears though, both formats still have a bigger sound than mp3. (although, mp3 is the convenient format for playlists around the house and on the road)

the funny thing is, when cd's were first coming out (i'm dating myself, lol) and i was getting ready to move to another state, i sold all my vinyl and replaced it all with the "compact"... now, i'm trying to replace all that vinyl, and it's costing me 3-4 times what I paid for the records brand new, in most cases. crazy...
