I really can't see them being allowed to use the SCG. There hasn't been a concert there for years and there's usually lots of opposition from residents about noise. Plus it's a much smaller venue than ANZ (Olympic) Stadium, circular too and has access rights for Members. I could be wrong but I'd say the odds are it will be ANZ.

I will concede it is more centrally located for tourists but this IS a show for locals. The capacity there is a 35,000 less, which is a staggering difference over two shows. Either the band (or Live Nation) has lost its nerve about interest in their shows, or some kind of political deal has been done to get them to the SCG. From memory, these would be the first concerts there in well over a decade and if they had their doubts why not just one show at ANZ like Queen or Metallica?

Is it possible that the cricket ground was the cheaper option? The band played Twickenham in 2017 over Wembley perhaps costs was the same reason for that as you would have thought Wembley would have been more obvious in that scenario as well.

A fair question but why hasn't any other artist gone for that option? I'm still trying to think of a plausible explanation why we might see the first concert at the SCG for over 10 years. Concerts at Allianz Stadium, which was right next door, didn't occur often because of noise concerns from local residents.

In terms of available tickets, this will be lowest in Sydney since the single Popmart show in 1997 and well under half of what they had for Vertigo. I just don't get it.

I wonder if a 3rd show in Sydney is possible? 3 nights in SCG why not if the sales are good. According to the rumoured tour dates I seen before there was an extra days gap between Sydney and the next location compared to all the other gaps between shows.

Remember that the band seemingly turned down a second night in Dublin in 2017 for no apparent reason.

Was that not due to not being able to play more than x amount of shows there?
Edit:
Actually I’ve just read up about it and they’re allowed 3 a year but it appears only 2 gigs took place at croke Park in 2017, maybe someone else was interested but never played? If not then it does seem strange not to play 2 nights in Dublin.
