    Unrelated to the tour: I always thought Ordinary Love was probably the biggest hit after Vertigo. Isn’t it considered a hit? It’s an honest question, I don’t know how other fans view it, but I always believed it was a big hit. It’s the one song all my friends (who know nothing about U2) know besides WOWY and Beautiful Day.

    maybe their most recent hit, but not at the same level as those 3 songs you named and other U2 hits. And certainly Ordinary Love is a big live song that will get people excited to see U2. But maybe that kept them alive a bit and of course also they still made some great albums with excellent songs, but I have the feeling that U2 is getting more and more out of the picture with the average music listener.
  3. A big part of the problem is that most modern FM stations don't play guitar based rock bands; for them acts like U2 and others are dinosaurs. The others that do play that style, act like U2 haven't released anything since JT other than perhaps One and Beautiful Day. Air play for new material is not just a problem for U2, many other established artists struggle too

    I do wonder as a younger fan of the band at 27 my peers would in theory be in the market that those radio stations are catering to. Very few of my friends do listen to any of that music. They like myself mainly like a wide range of guitar based bands ranging anywhere from the 1960s right up until now. Makes me wonder who is actually buying all this pop music the frontline DJs play.

  7. Curious to see pricing as well for tickets. Looking at Metallica and their tickets are really expensive (EUR 120 for a rear GA, EUR 160 for a front GA).
  8. As much as I love metallica (seeing them at Twickenham in a couple of weeks), everything they do is expensive. I'm hoping that considering u2 haven't between to that part of the planet for a while, they'd like to keep prices at a sensible level. Maybe wishful thinking though

    Expecting the worse, and fully expect to see some extortionate priced "premium" packages taking over the best seats.
