    However, March 18, 1978 is also a valid start date as by then the band had "officially" called themselves U2 (or U-2). Halfway point should then be somewhere around October 1998...

  6. If we’re including official releases I’d put zoo tv Sydney as #1 and elevation Boston as well as vertigo Chicago would definitely make top 10. The latter 2 are completely underrated shows with great setlists and strong performances to go with.

    but not full shows unfortunately. For audio I certainly prefer other shows, with video Zoo TV Sydney for me is U2's best release ever.

    True they aren’t full shows although you don’t get that sense when listening so I guess it depends how strict we’re being with the topic question. I would also put u22 very highly up the list, that’s taking it to extremes though as it’s a full on live compilation but again as a listening experience it just sounds like 1 great show.

    For Sydney I don't mind, I already watched that one a thousand times before I found out that it was not the complete concert. So for me it never feels incomplete or something (and also there's a complete version out there). Boston is just missing too many songs and Chicago also feels a bit weird at some points, missing a bit of flow or something. But lot's of great individual songs on both dvd's and certainly still worth watching.
