1. Few years ago I was frustrated with lists like that. Now I just don't care. They're just a load of crap.

If you want to see real picture watch "Seven ages of rock" documentary series by BBC. It contains 7 episodes following evolution of rock from it's beginnings to these days. So when they came to U2 and ZooTV they say that ZooTV was revolution in aspect of live and that no one after came even close to it. And that it will probably stay that way in future.

I mean "The Kiss" in in top 10? Gimme a break...

Couldn't agree more. These lists are a bunch of crap.

I watched most of that, although I contrived to miss the one with lots of U2 in it

    Very upset...

Luckily, a few months ago, on a Dutch documentary series called Rock! they dedicated an episode to live music and it was called: "Arena rock: van Queen tot U2 (from Queen to U2) (my 2 favourite bands ). So I just had to watch of course, and it was worth it: the last approximately 20% of the show was dedicated to U2 with mostly ZooTV No PopMart though...

I've seen that program; great stuff indeed, but the u2-part was way to short. That episode was all about Bob Dylan or Bruce Springsteen (can't remember) and Dire Straits...

Bruce it was...great to watch though
  6. I saw few people thought the Beatles being in the top 10 was stupid. Ok, they only toured for a few years but listen to a few of their boots and you'll see for yourself. Magic!

How true. I don't think anyone hear needs the validation of a list to know where U2 live rates. Put them number one on the list or exclude them. It makes no difference. We know.
  8. What the hell is the criteria? The percentage of the over 60 population that has your records??
  9. This is a joke right? The only artists that sell out more tickets are the Rolling Stones, who are far more popular than U2, as much as it pains me to say it. The Beatles did a lot of music, more than everyone else, but as far as concert performances go they were quite poor, as shown by their performances in China were the girls weren't allowed to scream their lungs out.

The truth is that U2 will, like everything else, be noticed most when they're gone. They have a huge collection of casual fans but they also have a lot of detractors (certainly here in Dublin where people are tired of seeing Bono dancing down the streets of Dalkey village )
But whether a fan or not, people go to U2 concerts as the masterful, completely over-the-top performaances of grandeur are so spectacular you know you've lost something if you missed it

No criteria, just people stupidity. Rating art is just insane, it's not right. You can rate quality of...I don't know...beer or wine.

    TASTE IS ENEMY OF ART
