  1. Going to be the same exact setlist as The Joshua Tree Tour 2017. None of the songs from Innocence were played so I can’t see them playing anything from Experience.
    A couple warhorses, The Joshua Tree album, then Beautiful Day, Elevation, Vertigo, Mysterious Ways, Ultraviolet and One.

    The only one I can see them throw into the Big Mac section is Love Is Bigger.
  4. It will be disappointing if that's all we get from the last 2 albums. One way to reinforce assertions that they've become a nostalgia act is to ignore their recent releases. If the band can't be bothered to play them why should fans or radio stations?

    Conversely, they could open up the ears of the casual fans who came along for the old stuff and who 'discover' some of the newer material.

    I agree with the others, little to no change from 2017. The only thing I can see is them swapping Ultraviolet to Love is Bigger.
  6. I think they should open with "Out of Control" on the b-stage. These shows will coincide roughly with the 40th anniversary of U2-3. Also, they haven't play OOC in Australia since 1984, save for one performance during Lovetown (yes, I had to look that up). I think it'd be a good idea. Here's my setlist prediction;

  7. I really like the idea of opening with Out of Control, but opening with SBS worked really well in 2017. The first part of the show is fine as it is, I enjoyed it a lot.

    "With Or Without You" "One" and, at best, "Beautiful Day"?

    Many audiences don't know much about U2, about their songs.

    It's not a performance for 200-300 maniacs!

    Just kidding: thanks for sharing your thoughts and yeah, setlists are made thinking of the biggest part of the audience which aren't hardcore (or maniacs ) like us... Sadly! I'd love U2 to play a bigger share of less-known songs on a regular basis - that can be done while keeping the visuals and the amazing spectacle they put on... But they just prefer a hit-heavy setlist because they know that 90% of the attendees are there to hear Pride, WOWY, One, Vertigo and the likes
  10. Actually their 2017 setlists seem tailor fit for Asia or first time locations. It was the JT in sequence with greatest hits as bookends.

    Maybe they might swap some hits. I can really picture them adding All I Want Is You because Asians love ballads and it's the 30th anniversary of Lovetown.

    I don't see them doing the experience and innocence songs since this tour isn't part of that narrative and there is nothing more to promote for that album.

    But U2 are always known to avoid repeating themselves so it might be interesting to see what surprises they bring. Is there any major "hit" that U2 hasn't played in a while?

    Perhaps they may play "Walk On" because it was inspired by a Southeast Asian woman, although U2 no longer support the person. But maybe like their stance on America -while they don't support the President, they support their idea of America. Hence, maybe the idea of Walk On can have them dust it off.

    It will really be interesting to see what songs they choose to play.

  12. Listening to the Europa EP this morning got me thinking about what versions of Pride and New Year's Day will they play this time around. For e+i these two songs were backed by new remixes, so will we get the 'modern' version or will they revert to the 'original' to keep with the retrospective feel of the tour. I don't know.
