1. Total joke at this stage. They should include an extra cd of bonus songs played on the 2 tours to make up for it

The gift seemed to be getting somewhere with the first 6 downloads and then suddenly it all stops when this tour got announced, I don’t think it’s a coincidence but maybe they just don’t have it ready yet I don’t know.
So you're implying they have a very small buffer and a totally messed up FIFO, and can't handle more than one thing at a time?

    Yeah, can't disagree
  3. Yeah at this stage there's no point in subscribing to me. Yeah you get pre-sales but meh, at the rate they're touring these days there's usually more than enough tickets to go around - and the gifts......just...yeah.

I let my subscription run out last year, just don't really care anymore - especially being that the gift is a CD...what year is it again?
  4. I still collect U2 CDs

It is Live Nation we're talking about...

Same here. Not to mention the last few gifts were abundant on ebay for next to nothing...

I'm pretty confident know they're not coming back to the States again for quite awhile...

It probably just isn’t ready yet but I’m not ruling out that it could be a strategy thing. For example I also reckon the JT17 dvd was held back because of SOE being released and the E&I tour. I think it does make sense to focus on one thing at a time from a business point of view, management might not be too keen for subscription gifts to take the headlines when there’s a tour to sell. Although I have to admit I think the strategy thing is probably more in place for commercial releases as opposed to these fanclub ones so I’m most likely talking rubbish but since nobody from u2.com has been open about it with us and nobody else seems to know for certain I might as well throw theories out there to pass the time lol.

Same here (but 5 years ago lol)
  9. Meanwhile you have artists like Metallica releasing high quality HD recordings of every show in both audio and video now just weeks after the show. U2 can't even put out 2 disc compilation from shows ranging from 4 years ago to almost a year ago. I mean they can't even figure out a tracklisting from one of the most static setlists in live shows? It isn't like Pearl Jam or Springsteen where they have dozens upon dozens of potential songs.

    Really sad.
  10. Oh and personally my issue is not so much the delay, it is the total lack of communication and transparency regarding the release. I would have zero problem if they kept updating us on the progress even something as simple like "We are experiencing delays as the band has been occupied with X and have not been available to work on it we apologize" or "due to scheduling issues, we have not been able to release the CD per our original timeline, we are working on this and will update you accordingly and we apologize"

I mean it would still suck but at least it would show that they are acknowledging the delay and offer some apology or something to show their appreciation for the fans who paid good money for this CD and have been waiting much longer than promised. I would not have re-upped if this CD was not the gift. I have seen my last live show ever last year due to health issues so ticket access is no longer a benefit, I don't care about anything else this fan club offers other than the gift and only live shows as a gift.

So I am spending my hard earned money to receive a product. In return it would be nice to be updated on the status of said product. I mean can you imagine if they did this for an official release? it would never happen. And personally I am paying way more for this live CD than I would ever pay for an official release in the store so it is even more disappointing at least for me.

    Spot on!
  12. I really think it's a communication issue. They make statements with kernals of Hope in them but us fans need empirical timelines.
