(Even though that last line sounds like ‘i’m So glad the pasta’s all gone’ lol).

    I think that’s great lyrics.

Even the 2nd verse is great as well. Admittedly the pre chorus, chorus and bridge lyrics aren’t exactly inspiring but with the tune it works for me. I’m definitely bias though towards anything SOI. The Miracle as well I was most fed up with in the first year after SOI release but I’ve grown to really like it again. Sleep like a baby tonight has been up and down in my estimations but I think it’s firmly in the good category for me now. The rest of the album I just love.
The Jools Holland version takes the song to another level
  2. Bono waving to his JT self during ZooTV Streets is genius.
  3. I like it cause I used to live on an island that was a volcano

  4. Two of Larry's drum intros are included, can you guess which ones?!
  5. ^Yes! I love Rick Beato, he's a big U2 fan and always gives them high praise. I think they've featured at least once in all of his 'best vocals/drums/bass/guitar' videos.
  6. A while back, I read somewhere that Trip Through Your Wires was supposed to be understood in the context of Sweetest Thing, and that the exclusion of Sweetest Thing from The Joshua Tree sort of took away that context. That being said, listening to them back to back, there are some interesting lyrical connections between the two, namely the "rain cloud" parts in each:
    Thunder, thunder on the mountain
There's a rain cloud in the desert sky
In the distance she saw me coming 'round
    I was calling out
    I was calling out
    vs
Baby's got blue skies up ahead
But in this I'm a rain cloud
You know she likes a dry kind of love

I just found this kind of interesting.

Oh NICE! I love the idea that the JT b-sides are meant to expand the narrative of the album. I knew that Luminous Times and Walk To the Water were meant to ‘complete’ With Or Without You. I wonder if the others also fit with particular songs... Race Against Time and Exit have a bit of a common thread of impending doom...
