For me it's a matter of artistic integrity. I think the JT2017 tour was dangerously close to "legacy act" status, as close as they'd want to get - and an AB tour would only cement that notion. Especially being that they could guise the JT tour as a political statement, whereas AB is anything but. Everyone would look at it and say "cash grab". I don't want that for U2.

TBH, I'd prefer they release a new video/cd of a quality ZooTV show that's been unreleased. Gimme a super cleaned up blu-ray of the Stockholm 1992 show or something - or a pro-shot of the Dublin '93 show that's never been seen before.

    oh yeah

Put it this way if they don’t tour AB in 2021 that will be at least 2 full years we won’t be seeing the band for because there’s next to no chance an album will be released by 2021 or maybe at best it would be the very end of that year but still that could be around 2 years away from the end of this year’s tour and 4 years since there last album. I don’t understand why any u2 fan would rather have nothing from the band over a tour.

Where is Best Of 2000 2020?

I guess it could delay a new album but not by a significant amount of time I don’t think. If they are planning a new album they will release it at some point when they’re ready so we’d still be getting the new material maybe at most 6 months later than we would have without an AB anniversary tour. I’d rather wait an extra six months and get a tour in the middle of that than have to wait maybe 2-2.5 years with nothing at all from the band. If they’ve got an album ready in 2021 then yeah release it and tour it but i don’t think it will be ready. All that artistic integrity stuff isn’t important to me. I just want to enjoy as much as I can of the band while they’re around, that means new albums, tours everything and I don’t care if it’s anniversary tours or tours of new albums but actually I really liked having both over the last few years. But I realise everyone’s got slightly different reason for loving the band. I’d definitely like to see that live release though and I know you had your doubts when we talked about it before but I’m convinced they’ll have an AB anniversary release as well with something live on it that hasn’t been released before, that was the one thing missing from the last AB anniversary release.
  4. Best of 2000-2020 track list, just for fun while bored at work.

    3. Elevation
    4. Walk on
    5. Vertigo
    6. Sometimes...
    7. All because of you
    8/ COBL
    9. Crazy Tonight
    10. Boots
    11. Magnificent
    12. Ordinary Love
    13. EBw
    14. SFS
    15. Miracle
    16. GOOYOW
    17. Best Thing
    18. LIBTAIIW
    19. American Soul

The 2nd disc could be stuff like All my life, Mercy, Boy Falls from the sky, and the never heard Studio version of North Star.
  5. Also, I’m all for skipping the AB Tour and just working on a new album and then touring after that. That said, if they do a AB Tour, they’ll definitely get my money for at least a couple shows!

That's completely fair - I can totally respect your opinion that you'd rather see them tour than not tour.

And we can DEFINITELY agree about that missing from the last AB anniversary release. Everything else was awesome, but including Sydney (which every U2 fan must already have, they must've known that lol) instead of something new was a major bummer.
  7. It just dawned on me how nice it’ll be to hear these songs again. A year of touring without Streets... wow. And I figured Brazil 2017 would be the last we heard of Trip and Exit, maybe Red Hill and RTSS too... I hope they bulk up the setlist a little more with new/other stuff, but TJT really does carry the show on its own. A lot of people have said they felt like the band was bored playing those songs, but that’s certainly not the show I saw.
