It's really good. We had a huge debate on this point (which was a better lead-in to Streets, Please or Running to Stand Still) but I can't remember which topic it was. I was of the opinion that Please was better, but this week's Bootleg Round Table might have changed my mind...

You will convert to RTSS Jeremy...

Don't get me wrong, Please in its own right was incredible live, Bono poured his soul out every time, and the segue into Streets was great BUT I just think ZooTV nailed it. RTSS was so eery and chilling, with Edge's guitar bit, and then the synth rings out across the stadium, the smoke starts churning, Edge kicks in with THAT arpeggio...and the world goes upside down. Unbeatable.
  3. No to get too off topic but I got kinda turned off of live RTSS with the embarassing 'performance' Bono did on ZooTV.

    Dear Bono,
Please don't try to act. Just sing. We like it when you sing.

    Thanks, Zooey

PS - Macphisto, The Fly and Mirrorball Man aren't really acting.

It's the other way round, how much do I have to tell you. RTSS in it's own right is incredible. But Please/Streets is unbeatable.

  7. please/streets is perfect...
the emotion durion the version of Popmart Mexico is sooooo gooood!
hope they play this next tour like this...

rtss/streets is very very close in second, in my opinion

cant think of a better lead...
maybe streets as a starter like 01-01-1990...

    It was my topic!! http://www.u2start.com/topic/3644/

Feel free to bump. I think Please won the debate, but f*ck knows why. The Bad/40 army were not on my side that forum. Personally, I wouldn't care if U2 never played Please again.

'Fraid not Dan - Please was incredible and I love it. BUT RTSS was that notch above. Helped that Bono's voice wasn't kaputt during 99% of ZooTV too...

    Agreed.

may have been a bit harsh of me, that thing about the 99% of the time etc. BUT I mean, watching the PopMart DVD, Bono's voice was just not nailing stuff - best PopMart I've come across so far was the Leeds show. You've never heard Mofo so good...
  12. I mean, Please is there with Bad, side by side. That hypnotic melodies are just out of this world. Hope they'll play it on the next tour.
