One can even count the blue dots if there's enough time in their hands There's much more blue dots than grey dots as you can see in the video I just took. There are full blocks that are completely greyed out because they aren't on sale at all, and some sections are partially blocked (who'd buy full rows of the furthest seats when there's hundreds of better located for the same price? It's safe to assume those have been pulled out by Ticketmaster).

Of course the counting can't be done with GAs but seeing the seats makes me doubt GA is anywhere close to being sold out - which is the only way they'd go anywhere near that 16k figure.

I didn’t take the time to count every single dot but you can do rough estimates based on the size of the section. The top part of the stand across from the stage is almost completely sold out and some of the sections on the lower part have sold out. There’s a good 4.5-5k seats sold right there. Some of the sections in the long stands are completely sold out, the corners in particular are quite large sections plus there’s the vip sections in the middle that all add up. The middle parts of the stands are making it look worse than it is in terms of tickets sold compared to tickets left. 16k maybe is pushing it but I think you’ll find they’ve sold at least half so maybe 12k as I think there will be more like 24k seats available or less not the 25k I originally stated but there’s GA to be added as well.

Where the hell is the promotion and price slashing? Someone has fallen asleep at the wheel.

I'm pretty sure the VIP seats weren't put on sale at all - they are commonly reserved for press and invites. And I'd bet big money that many of the upper/furthest sections have been blocked, rather than sold.

I'd say not more than 5-7K seats have been sold. We don't have a clue about GAs BUT I doubt many (as in really MANY) people would opt for a $240 seat having plenty of $75 GAs available.

I reckon this might be a case of seeing the glass half full or half empty, and I really really want Ticketbastard and Livefartion -and yeah that includes the U2 corporation to a certain degree- to suffer a big fiasco with this uninspired & overpriced tour... So admittedly I might be pushing it a bit to the empty glass side lol

Even if they sell 10k for the gig which they will do that’s still about £1million for a show that’s already set up. As I said earlier if it was only 1 show then they probably would lose money with the cost of getting everything there plus venue cost and everything else but it won’t cost them £1million to put on a 2nd show in the same location so they won’t have anything to worry about. The management don’t look at empty seats they look at the money coming in. Other artists could play the same venue sell twice as many tickets and still bring in less money than u2. That’s a bit sad really but it’s reality. Anyway I’m not arguing about the fact it’s going to look bad on the night, really you wouldn’t want a venue less than 80% sold in the worst scenario and Auckland 2 will be much worse than that but from a financial point of view they’ve priced the tickets high enough that it’s not a problem for a night 2.

Absolutely nothing to argue with this. The shows will still be a mild success from a purely economic point of view.

Which is something very wrong btw, but that's another issue
  6. It's an oppotunity to see U2 in an rather intimate setting, so what.
  7. Would love to see a barely full stadium show. I reckon Bono would give a little bit extra. Those Popmart photos to 1/3 full stadiums are amazing.

    Strange comment.
  9. It’s very possible. What else can they do? Massively reduce ticket prices to the outrage those who have purchased early? Or just go out and deliver a great show.

Those US PopMart photos and videos really are amazing.
