    The article mentions that there's a studio in the island but no info as to who else might be there and if the studio is being used or not. Oh well...
  2. I’m not too surprised it sounded like when they packed up the private rehearsals they wouldn’t be rehearsing again until they got to Auckland. Probably done as much as they can do now without doing it with the full set up. A little break from rehearsing can be refreshing anyway.

  4. 3 weeks according to u2songs. That’s a long time rehearsing. I used to be bored when I rehearsed two days a week for weddings and party’s. Admittedly I wasn’t getting paid millions of pounds but there’s only so much you can play the same song before it gets boring and that’s when you start making mistakes.

    Alright so I was just being a bit of a cynic. I haven't been in the rehearsing studio with them and I don't know how much they actually care about this mini tour, but if they really end up going for an almost exact copy of the 2017 tour it's gonna be a huge disappointment for many.

    People may be disappointed then but I don’t know why anyone would expect anything massively different from 2017. It’s still TJT tour just a different year. I do think there will be 2 or 3 changes in the encore but that’s it and I don’t think it’s because the band can’t be bothered or anything I think it’s because they liked how it worked in 2017. A lot of people’s complaints were focused around the 2nd half of JT (my favourite part of the show) and that’s not changing so they’re unlikely to change the bits that people did like just for the sake of it.

    Seriously, I think 99% of the audiences who will be seeing this show, even if it's identical to the 2017 ones, will just be happy to see it at all. 99% of people at a U2 show aren't people who go online to look at setlists, etc. These people will be happy to hear The Joshua Tree in its entirety, just like we were.

    Not really seeing how probably 80-90% of the people going this year haven't seen the tour before.

    No I don't think it will be a huge disappointment at all. A vast majority of the audience will be from the NZ/Aus/Asia and wouldn't have seen JT17 in the Americas/Europe. You got to remember that 99% of the audience going to a show of 30k-50k+ aren't U2 superfans; we are the 1% of U2 fans. And for those who are have seen JT17 (like some people here) and will see this tour, the fact that it is called The Joshua Tree tour 2019 is a tip off that they should expect a largely similar setlist to JT17. If this tour was going back to Europe or the Americas I think it would be reasonable to assume that it would be a disappointment if they played a near identical setlist but since it is an area of the world that didn't experience JT17 it won't be a disappointment at all. People should really be expecting this to play closer like an additional leg of the JT17 tour in a new region rather than a completely new tour.

    Personally for me as an Australian fan who did not travel for JT17 (and am yet to see U2 live at all) I want this tour to be JT17 with only a couple of differences. I would be more disappointed if they changed things up radically than if they kept it similar to JT17.
  10. I saw JT17 and am incredibly lucky that circumstance has allowed me to take in a show on JT19. If it's the same show/set-list it wouldn't bother me one bit.

    My feeling is that there will be a couple of changes to acknowledge SOE and as a result the set-list may actually be 1 or 2 songs longer. But the format will be very similar, as will visuals/lighting etc.
  11. Just a question to all fan club members when they bought tickets. I joined fan club to be able to get the GA tickets. But both times I was on the pre sales there was no tickets from the word go it looked . Forcing me to buy the more expensive seating just in case concert sold out. But all the concerts had GA tickets released the day before the gigs in 2017 and 2018. People are joining the fan club to make sure they get to there shows and tickets they want. Too me there forcing people to buy the expensive tickets first knowing they will sell ga at lost prices later on. Just pissed me off.

    I haven’t heard any case of GA’s not available in the presales for this tour. Think something else was wrong when you tried it.
