    They definitely use FOMO during the presale to sell more expensive seats.

    You'd hope that the best seats would be offered in the presale, to the band's most loyal fans. But it looks more the case that live nation offers some of the poorer CAT 1 seats. Knowing they have a captive audience, that will still buy them. Not a good way to treat your fan base.

    They've always left a pool of tickets unsold, until the final days before a concert, even for high demand shows. This is partly to counter scalpers (supposedly), & also to sell seats one the stage is set up, to check if their will be obstructed views. These ticket drops usually include some GA tickets too.

  3. I don’t think disappointment will be there , Fans here in Australia and other places have been waiting awhile! So the lack of touring the last 2 albums have been slack. Not everyone cares about America
  6. I was saying what everyone is now saying in May ! It’s their own damn fault for neglecting this part of the world for the last two albums! No interviews no pressers = zero interest from AUS fans ! What is also worry is it would seem their has already been a very laconic start to this tour with barely any rehearsals ( band mainly with what has been done.... Bono off doing what Bono does ) which is a real worry .. they are notorious slow starters when it comes to touring! I don’t care if they know these songs better than they do the back of their own hands .. they Are a band that needs rehearsals to be that ‘tight’ unit that they normally achieve a handful of shows into a tour .. by the times they get going the tour will be over and it will leave fans downunder with an even bigger dent to their already waning legacy in these parts!! I fear for this tour , I really do !!
  7. I think local fans should be fearing the next tour - will this tour be their last, unless perhaps it is part of a massive farewell tour. Even then, there's no ruling out taking the R.E.M approach and simply calling time with no farewell shows.

    There is not a chance in hell of them coming back after this fiasco .. the other thing still that is bemusing and NO one has answered from either band or promoter is why did the choose the SCG which hadn’t hosted a concert in a decade ( because is a shitshow hint hint ) over Homebush ( which is at least configured nicely for a concert - other than that that stadium is also a shitshow - why why why !?!?
  9. Yeah I don't think U2 will ever return down under. In the future U2 will only tour North America & Europe.
  10. I disagree that they won’t go back. Go and check the money they bring in at the end of the tour and the overall attendance and you’ll see there are plenty of reasons to go back. What they almost certainly won’t do is play 2 shows in Auckland but apart from that this tour will be a success (and Auckland 2 will still be profitable). Also the band have been rehearsing despite what was said a few posts ago. They spent 3 weeks rehearsing, nobody knows how much time and effort were put into they rehearsals but I would hazard a guess at the appropriate amount of time and effort. They’ll be rehearsing a few days in the stadium as well, plenty of time spent on rehearsals.

  12. Yeah, they're playing stadiums, not arenas. So to sell them out they've got to sell between 40-60k seats. Compared to 12-20k for arenas. Two full stadium shows may be equivalent to selling out 4-10 arenas. Not too many cities in the US can do that. The problem with touring down under is the vast distances & the small number of large cities capable of getting a decent sized crowd.

    So maybe they won't come, maybe they will. I'm an optimist. Either an arena tour, or a farewell tour, maybe in stadiums.
