1. The problem is they’re not going to just do a “90s theme” tour. It’s going to be specific to achtung baby if there is one. So that means, playing Achtung in its entirety. And it also means really no pop or zooropa material, kinda like how u2 left out raffle & hum and Joshua tree b-sides.

12 achtung songs + streets, wowy, ishfwilf, beautiful day, Elevation, vertigo, City of blinding lights, I will follow, Sunday Bloody Sunday, pride. Yeah this would pretty much be the show - not that exciting. Move onto the future. New music+ supporting tour.

    Not that exciting? pfft righto.

I dunno why people are thinking it has to be either one or the other (AB30 tour or new album tour). No reason why they can't do both in the space of the next 4-5 years.
  3. f*ck ... I miss lemon
  4. I would be SUPER EXCITED to see Achtung Baby in its entirety live. if it included Zooropa/B-sides, even better! Any songs on top of that would be a bonus.

It’s not that they can’t do both, it’s just that it doesn’t seem like good reason to considering the amount of achtung they’ve done in recent years. They did wild horses and Acrobat on EI and 2011 was achtung heavy also + they made from the sky down. Not to mention zoo station, UV and of course even better, one, mysterious ways, and the y. With JT it’s different if you consider all the songs after the first 5 that haven’t been done in quite some time.

Love is Blindness is a good enough reason for me. I love that song, & miss it.

But yeah, I get your point, & you're probably right. Most of Achtung has been played over the last few years.

    Excellent point.
  8. Of course it would be "exciting" to see them perform a Zoo TV anniversary, but IMO it wouldn't be nearly as exciting as a new tour. The pride behind behind being a U2 fan is they don't have to hide behind their past work. Controversial as that may be, at least the debate is there. And I personally feel that the past 5 years have been very rewarding as a fan and for the quality of art they produce.
  9. Thank you everyone for the input, the predictions and the feedback.

I just can't believe so many fans want another nostalgia tour
  10. The kind of nostalgia I'd like to see them pursue is a "back to basics" rock album and associated tour. Back to four men and their instruments, with simple layering that can easily be reproduced live and allow some flexibility. Make a modern Boy or War using one producer. Just because the studio has a 48 track recording machine doesn't mean they have to use all 48 channels!

There was one "back to basics" album before and it became ATYCLB - so no thank you.
Rock album is totally okay, but not with that super polishing and overproducing of last years. Just real raw rock!

I would be only for Pop (would be only chance to hear Pop tracks live), but that's not happening.
Don't need another nostalgia tour, but it seems majority artists are doing this (even 10 years anniversary tours) so it became trend now
