yes, setlist wise. I already said that in the first sentence. Still the 2nd leg wasn't that bad if you take a closer look at it and certainly those shows were on quite a high level with very enthousiastic crowds. They had a bit of a false start in Brussels (from what I've heard), but after that they were in tremendous form.
Btw, I agree on Bullet, but not on SBS. The crowd went really wild on it, especially in Amsterdam.
Don't get me wrong, I enjoyed all shows - before that I saw just one Popmart show - just other tours I find better.
According to SBS, people go crazy everytime, I just don't like that version (and 360 was worse, not to mention IE/EI which was totally energy less).

well, for me there was a clear difference between the craziness of 2005 and 2015 or 2017 on SBS. And in general, on E&I people where almost falling asleep around me (hopefully it was not because of me), while in 2005 people were a LOT more excited. So that makes me wondering... is it something to do with memories fading away, or do die hards just experiencing shows differently? Maybe I just feel more connected with the casual fans. And maybe some of the die hards make it way too complicated, almost like math or something. Beautiful Day +1, Acrobat +100, Bad missing -50, Bad being played bu with the wrong snippet -200 etc.. of course it's ok everyone to have their own feelings about it, but I just hope not too many get infected by these kind of things..

2017/2019 to me is best version SBS since 2001.
I don't math excitement and how I enjoy the show. It's all about athmosphere, band performance, and of course, setlist has to do something with it too (setlist surprise is always +).
Nothing to do with snippets (even though in Dublin 2017 it was really wrong snippet in Bad lol) at me

I wonder how some would rank E&I in 15 years, when maybe Acrobat and Wild Horses show up regularly in the next tours.. would you still be so excited about E&I? I doubt it. I remember the Vertigo Tour was very well received and now it's almost at the bottom of every list. I just feel a bit sorry for it, it's not what it deserves.

I put vertigo tour at the bottom of my list but it isn’t a bad tour, it’s in strong company. You’re making a false assumption or guess that I could be less excited about E&I in the future. You’re allowed to make that guess but whether it’s intentional or not (I don’t think you’re doing it intentionally) it is a put down of someone opinion to explain it away as being nothing more than about how recent the gig has been. You just have a different way of ranking u2 shows, different likes and dislikes, different ways of thinking, I don’t think we need to question the reasons of other people’s choices, if you’re asking me why I or others voted E&I that’s a different matter but I didn’t see that question in there.

you don't have to feel offended by it. I'm just defending Vertigo and perceiving it lost a lot of it's popularity. Again, please don't feel offended by it and don't change the words I'm putting on it. I don't think I'm making any unfair remarks.

I’m not offended by it I just think it’s better not to 2nd guess how someone is feeling or might be feeling in the future. If you had taken 3 words out of the last post I tagged ‘I doubt it’ then I would have at least had a question to answer and the assumption aspect of the post would have been taken away. It’s not a crime, you’re not being out of line really but I do think the conversation would move forward better if you let people explain there own opinion rather than trying to guess it first. Ask people why they feel a certain way or have chosen something if you want a more detailed explanation, then we can compare what we agree and disagree on and that’s all good, doesn’t matter if we share loads in common or nothing it’s an interesting discussion then.

I doubt it and you should also doubt it. I'm just making fair remarks and you could just say; you might be right, or maybe not, the future will tell.. maybe you won't change your mind, maybe others will.. I didn't say I'm sure of it. I only know that it happens all the time, maybe not with you, but memories fade away. Recency bias is everywhere, in all kinds of lists, in all kinds of things...

Let’s play a game of turning the tables, you should doubt that my opinion will change. Perhaps your feeling regarding people’s opinion of E&I changing in the future is because you’ve rated the tour at the bottom of your list and can’t see it from someone else’s perspective and how they enjoyed it so much. You should try and see it from other people’s perspective and maybe you’ll like it more. I could be right or I could be wrong the future will tell.

  12. Ranking the tours is difficult to do. I found the strongest aspects of all the tours I've attended difficult to compare. I loved the atmosphere of elevation and vertigo and the narrative of ei and ie. I thought Bono's singing was slightly stronger during my ie show than ei, but the narrative, the way I felt after realizing during Desire that I had too "lost my innocence" was very powerful indeed. Following that up with Acrobat knocked me off my feet. Thanks to the narrative lead up, I was there, with Bono/Macphisto, believing that if I closed my eyes, I could feel the enemy and wondering what had happened to My face of melting snow. My ranking:
    Elevation
    Vertigo
    EI
    IE
    360
    JT 2017
    Popmart
