15 years of collaboration! for me the best director U2 worked with!
I invite you to see IMDB of Hamish Hamilton!

    https://www.imdb.com/name/nm0357895/
The fact that he worked with most of the famous musicians doesn't make him my favorite director - i just don't like that blurry, unfocused shots and angle change every half a milisecond

    of the ones you mantioned

Go Home is great (maybe he had not enough cameras to destroy it)
Boston and Paris are just about ooooh-key.

Chicago is terrible - about only DVD I didn't rewatch ever since it came out, not only the camera work is hectic, the quality is also bad, it would benefit the most from Bluray edition.

Anyway, of course you can like Hamish work, I DONT... and it is no coincidence that imho the best dvd/bluray out in last few years is Muse - Live At Rome... by Matt Askem! (The Drones thing in cinema was terrible too!, but that was not Hamish)

    Regards

  2. The only video I didn’t like that he filmed was during elevation 2001 live from Boston. I will follow was all over the place for my taste. Other than that I’ve loved the dvds that he’s directed of the band so far

I am a film director myself! I assure you that often we are not responsible for the poor quality of the DVD or the final Blu-ray. when we finish the work on the timeline (after color correcting), the material goes to editing DCP, DVD and other formats and this is where the problems can start !!!
  4. The Boston DVD has some incredibly annoying "errors" where some shots are not sync'd with the music itself. Really visible during The Fly, there's shots of Edge where his hands is nowhere where it needs to be on the neck of his guitar for what he's playing in the audio... Because the director edited in shots from other places in the timeline. I'm pretty sure it's not errors, just the director taking people for idiots and thinking people won't notice because no one plays guitar or something.

    Really dislike that.

Like Pasadena 2009. Someone at some point in the process decided to add an ugly Instagram filter over the whole video

Same with Chicago 2005. Zoo Station there's a huge continuity error where Bono is heard but no mic near his mouth
  7. Yeah this DVD is a bit darker, but it fits the theme tho

  8. Some nice audio on this one as well..
  9. I wonder what sort of deluxe edition they will do for this, would consider buying it.
