1. Yes exactly, the screen was centimetres from the seats in Dublin.

certainly not.. there seemed to be a bit of a curse on U2 shows that were recorded on film, but this time it seems like they got it at the right time and place. Looks like they can just release the whole show, without major cuts or songs of other nights mixed in.. Paris 2015 already was pretty good. Both rescheduled concerts btw.
  3. Brilliant quality

Managed to squeeze this in - not sure but maybe 1 more later (not 100% though)

Lovely subtle guitar work at the start intermingled with the harshness & full on sound later in the song.. really nice listening in high quality audio to this..

Thank you very much ! Sound is very good !

  5. Just caught this, and thought I'd mention this...

I'm fairly certain this is Dublin 27th June 2005.

I was at all 3 of those Dublin 2005 shows, and show #3 was something else altogether...

The setlist was fantastic, resulting in a notably longer than usual show, the atmosphere was probably up there with the best I've experienced in my time seeing the band, and despite a pretty late arrival, it was gone 9pm if I recall correctly before band arrived on stage, they were super relaxed and seemed pretty happy throughout.

Shortly before U2 came out, I got speaking to a photographer the band hire for various shows and appearances. He'd seen them like 140 times or something at that point, and I'm pretty sure I remember him saying the band were filming the show for their own personal archives. If it wasn't him that said it then someone else definitely told me that on the day.

As well as all that it was quite apparent something was going on as there were noticeable extra cameras around for sure including a large boom camera over the audience which I don't recall at other Vertigo shows I saw.

I get the feeling this is genuinely one they wanted for themselves.

All the extra booms and cameras were rigged and setup on the second of their 3 nights in Croke Park. They (Dream Chaser) were filming with the extra equipment on June 25th 2005 not June 27th 2005.
  7. Watched it for the third time last night and I think it's great. Been at the show and it's captures well, I love the way it's shot and directed and that there are no close ups of the crowd (or their cell phones).

Must be getting muddled up then, though could have sworn I remember the boom from my vantage point on the rail of Edge's b-stage going over the left side of the audience on night 3, but heck years ago now, and these things become a bit of a blur after so many shows.

Maybe it's one they had filmed for themselves, friends and family, or perhaps for their estate to issue after they are no more if they want to. Or maybe it was just a simple test-run for Milan a month later. Sure would be interesting to know.
