    PS. I tend to forget SBS was often performed on Zoo TV - it's so weird to see it being played in that stage!

    yes, always in rotation with Bad.. except for Washington where they played both at the same show, so we're quite lucky to have a pro shot of that one.

    All the best zoo tv shows didn’t feature SBS.
  5. one of my first bootlegs was Houston (October) '92, with Redemption Song into SBS... maybe not one of the absolute best, but certainly a very good show. Heil München also I think.. I also prefer Bad in that spot, but I don't think it makes or breaks a show.

    It was more a case of me thinking leg 3 of zoo tv was the weakest rather than a SBS vs Bad debate. Not that leg 3 was bad, like most of zoo tv it was very good, I enjoy listening to a few shows from that leg in good quality too but I prefer the other legs in general Setlist wise. Maybe early leg 4 I should include also as weakest. I like when they started introducing Zooropa songs into that leg.

  8. Lol, I would tend to agree but something can be the weakest of a certain category without actually being weak. Just like something can be the best of a category and still be poor. All zoo tv shows were great but leg 3 and early leg 4 are my least favourite. It still doesn’t stop me listening to the Washington and East Rutherford soundboards from leg 3 though and enjoying them.

    Haha yeah I know, I was just teasing I agree that the greatness of legs 1&2 and the latest one in Oceania & Japan is hard to top, and legs 3&4 fall a bit short in comparison. But at the same time they saw the band a bit more freed and loose, Larry started to sing, they played more random covers and originals (from the top of my head, So Cruel, Slow Dancing, Zooropa & Babyface, Whiskey In The Jar, Redemption Song, Dirty Old Town, Wild Rover, New York New York, Dear Prudence, Lost Highway and We Will Rock You only appeared on legs 3 and/or 4)...

    A lot of they songs you mentioned are covers which is one of the reasons I didn’t like they legs. However Zooropa and Babyface did bring something interesting to the 2nd half of leg 4, although I didn’t feel they quite nailed either, Zooropa was much better on 360. Stay and Numb were also good additions and they did do a good job of them. The second half of leg 4 I’d probably still put up there with the rest of the tour. The dream for me would have been if they played all the AB songs and Zooropa stuff that got an outing on that tour in the one show. I’ve done plenty of playlists that would represent such a show now including acrobat from E&I as well plus the wanderer (semi live) and the first time from vertigo tour. You can’t get enough zoo era stuff in the one show.

    Zoo TV got a bit more polished along the way.. with adding Zooropa songs at the end of the tour it got a bit more interesting again.. but no, I don't think there really was a weaker part..
    @Dean: there are many more great Outside Broadcast recordings apart from the 2 you named.. both Philadelphia shows for example.. Birmingham (Now My Girl Has Desire)..

    I’ll need to check out a few more of them then. I’ve listened to loads in the past but I tend to only keep the good soundboard recordings and the very best audience ones but I’ll take a listen to they shows at some point on your recommendation. My complaints are very picky btw and minor in comparison to what I need to stress I feel was a great tour. When we’re talking about such levels the inclusion of when love comes to town which I’m not a fan of and a cover can be what brings a show down to me personally compared to a show that features some zooropa stuff instead. But I’m sure some leg 3 shows will feature great performances of certain songs I do love so it will be worth listening to a few shows. That’s why I do listen to the shows I already mentioned.
