They don’t seem to be too concerned with sharing there stuff for free anyway so it’s not really a big mistake. They’ve made all there albums available on YouTube so someone could just as easily rip the audio from all them and sell them. Obviously they have to turn round and say don’t share it but it’s not going to make a big difference in the u2 world, tours are where the moneys made. These gifts are more about having a physical collectors item, that’s what’s exclusive about it really the content was never going to be exclusive to subscribers, it never really has been all the stuffs available somewhere when you look hard enough.

the impression I have, my friend, is that they don't want or need to promote the band anymore. As if U2 were at the end of the trajectory and no longer needed new fans, only subscribers are enough. But ... if they chose this, patience.

I don’t think a dvd release would have really promoted the band as such, it’s always an item for a long term fan really. Maybe different where you’re from but in the majority of the world a dvd release isn’t going to gain a lot of new fans. People being able to see it on YouTube for free will probably bring them more new fans in fact than any physical or digital commercial release would have brought them. I would suspect in general the band gain more new fans from people listening to there music for free or going on a streaming site like Spotify than going out and having to purchase it.
  4. I'm unfortunately really not feeling guilty about being able to see it on youtube and download it from there. The U2.com subscription is absoluetly not worth it, (paying 50€ for a DVD or a 4k stream?), but mostly, the practice of limiting access by not selling outside of the fan club as a normal dvd release is a completly trashy business tactic, to force people only interested in the DVD of the show to buy it at an extremly premium price compared to a normal store release.

And for that reason, I'm pretty ok without "pirating it" thanks to the guy that put it on youtube. It still being up might mean they don't really care anyway!

That said, absolutely love the show
  5. Green light, seven eleven, you stopped there, for a pack of cigarettes, you don't smoke, don't even want to, hey now, check your change.....
  6. I,ve the achtung baby part on repeat play today. Zoo station and the fly are brutal........Love the bass.....
  7. I do really, REALLY miss Bono's guitar in "The Fly". If only Edge had made his guitar sound more dirty and "full"...
Anyway it's a good version with a GREAT bass from Lord Adam Clayton!
  8. The YouTube links are starting to go down..
  9. I dont like the editing, I like the split screen effect but there is too much switching between shots.
  10. I thought the editing was a HUGE improvement over the ADHD stuff that Hamish Hamilton does. I saw lots of long tracking shots and nice pacing of the cuts.

    YMMV.
